While Baxter undeniably plays a critical role in saving and improving lives through the products it supplies to the healthcare sector, this mission comes at a significant cost to its own employees.

The workforce bears the brunt of unsustainable demands, sacrificing their health and morale to maintain the company’s polished image and fuel its operations for the benefit of higher management. Employees are treated as expendable components in a relentless machine, with little regard for their well-being or professional development.

You deserve better. Look elsewhere for a workplace that respects and values you as a person, and don’t settle for less than you’re worth.

The work environment is excessively demanding, with expectations that far exceed reasonable limits, driven by unrelenting pressure from the healthcare sector. The physical and mental toll required to meet these demands is disproportionate to the compensation offered, which remains comparable to retail wages despite the significant risks involved. Employees are regularly exposed to hazardous chemicals, including substances with DNA-altering properties, making the role untenable given the insufficient pay and benefits provided.

The workplace culture is profoundly demoralizing. Management enforces an authoritarian regime where individuality is systematically suppressed, and employees are expected to conform without question. Communication is discouraged, and compliance is expected to the point of absurdity, stripping employees of their sense of self and agency. This approach reduces workers to mere cogs in a rigid, dehumanizing system.

Career progression opportunities are limited, both within the organization and in the broader job market. The niche nature of the compounding profession confines employees to a narrow range of roles predominantly in health and science fields, further stifling professional growth and flexibility.

High turnover rates reflect the unsustainable nature of this work environment. Many employees leave, unable to reconcile the extreme demands, poor management practices, and lack of meaningful returns. Conversations with colleagues reveal that rapid staff attrition is a recurring theme, driven by the nature of the work and the organizational culture.

The hiring process is particularly disingenuous, relying on predatory tactics that promise diversity, flexibility, and a supportive environment—claims that are starkly at odds with reality. Instead, the workplace primarily attracts individuals with limited options, often international workers with minimal alternative opportunities. This practice underscores a troubling reliance on desperation to maintain a workforce willing to endure the subpar conditions.

Highly stressful and not motivating at all. Horrifying work culture where you're constantly discouraged from building friendships in the workplace. I found the team leaders group chat which contained disgusting messages about myself and my coworkers. 

They'll proudly display their annual profits of $1 million but you're lucky if you receive a 2% salary increase. As a compounder (my role), you will be expected to stay back and work all hours of the night to meet the unrealistic expectations that the managers, salespeople and production specialists make to clients without so much as a thank you. 

You will absolutely be expected to stay past your rostered work hours to complete the work, overtime is an expectation, not a choice, (you will absolutely see the hateful attitude arise from production specialists and team leaders when you try to enforce a work-life balance). You need to actually let the managers know if you'd like to go home on time, to still be met with their attitude. 

If you're looking for a way to make easy money and quickly - work here for a maximum of 12 months and save, and then leave immediately after. Their base salary does not cover basic cost of living funds. You will NOT be appreciated here.

was part of the customer support homecare team responsible for contacting & supplying 280 - 300 allocated home patients on home nutrition & renal dialysis. Also taking incoming calls from the home patients and hospitals to process orders and follow up general enquiries.  Learnt many new skills that were also required as part of the role eg processing of credits, transfers of debts, setting up patient files and learning to understand and the needs and requirements of the patients based on their medical requirements. Worked under a great Manager & team leader who were always supportive of the team when ever needed.  Work place culture was of a good standard where everyone worked together as a team. Hardest part of the job was the long hours that had to be put in days  due to increasing work loads. Most enjoyable part of the job was the satisfaction for helping people to make sure they received their monthly requirements for a better quality of life

A typical day at work involves alot of things happening.  Firstly, you enter through the canteen to put your food there as you cannot have any food at all in the manufacturing area.   Secondly, you would go to your locker to get your uniform and change to be able to enter the sterile rooms that you work in.  Most people are friendly there and will say hello as you pass in the corridors, even the managers.  There is a diverse culture of people that work at Baxter Healthcare which makes it interesting.  Sometimes the shifts can be extended and some days you really don't feel up to it, but you do push your way through it and get there in the end.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the great friends that you made and they turned out to be fantastic work colleagues as well.

Working at Baxter is brilliant when they have adequate staffing levels… however in the Perth site that was not the case. Over worked, stressed employees and doing overtime daily, hours of overtime, was expected, not asked. A text every morning asking you to come in an hour and a half early, DAILY. You have to give a reason why you CANT do daily over time. Severe lack of appreciation for the “little guys”. $250 million WA tender, yet no bonuses… says a lot about priorities. Management are either too hands off, or too demanding. High staff turnover means nobody is actually trained to assist. Absolute nightmare. 

I was placed in Baxter Healthcare through an agency as a temp. The role was as a data entry operator, entering medical supply orders for the major hospitals around Country and Regional NSW. The accuracy was of the upmost importance because of the type of medical supplies being ordered ie morphine etc. 
I found the training very poor. Only one of the temp staff members had any formal training. I was given written notes from that temp to learn the job. If questions were asked in order to get the order correct, the staff became annoyed as they were all so very busy. 
I found the staff to be very friendly outside of the working hours.
I enjoyed the working environment and enjoyed going to work each day.

Fast paced Pharamceutical business, great cultured and plenty of growth opportunities.
Extremely supportive management
Most enjoyable part of this job was the trust and autonomy to make high dollar decisions and also to market life changing programs that directly helped the training of skilled Drs to be better.
A company with an environmental side that actually worked to be more environmentally sound and to actively recycle.

I have over 30 years of experience in medical device sales. Baxter was the worst organization I have ever seen. The culture is beyond toxic. Backstabbing was brought to a level unbeknownst to me prior to joining. Leadership did not invest in new products and the existing portfolio was 17 plus years old and no longer covered by patents. Go to strategy was to use Jedi mind tricks to convince customers to use more product and prefer it to similar competitive products available. 

1. Typical working day is always coping up with delivery deadline.
2.Skills in compounding IV cancer medication.
3.Incompetent manager and promotion relay on patronage not performance.
4. Incompetence are rewarded high performance is fiunish.
5.Uncooperative co worker and clueless manager and team leader. They relay mostly to the session controller and pharmacy releaser.
6. The pay is good.
