Bankstown Hospital

As I was permanent afternoons, my day consisted dishing residents dinner and getting to know what residents like to eat, then assisting residents ready for their night eg, bed, watching tv.
Learning about each resident was interesting and listening to their stories about their life.
Some of the residents where from overseas cultures and had curtain  things they like to do before bed . The hardest part of my job was getting to know the residents and what each resident liked and disliked. 
I enjoyed all parts of my position and especially working with the residents and being able to help them with their day.

I have been working as an Endorsed Enrolled nurse for 5 years at Bankstown hospital. In a busy Medical/surgery/renal ward. Working their I was supported by my Nursing Unit Manager to continue my study and go on and do my bachelor of nursing. Which I now  have completed. I have learn a lot of things in my time of nursing and am keen to learn more. Bankstown hospital is a great family friendly environment which patient and family are looked after with the best quality of care.

Working in emergency you have to have the stomach for all sort of presentations. Fast paced and must have multi tasking. You have some many options to move up in the hospital and learn so many different things. Like coding data entry payroll and administration, all depends on your likes. 

Worst hospital in NSW. Workplace culture racist, no management support, candidates that are chosen do not fit the selection criteria.  The hardest part of the job was working with idiots with no common sense and lack of understanding of the English language.

While at bankstown I was mostly assisting ICU and emergency. As well as being on call for all departments and wards .I was assisting the met team with the nurses and doctors. And anything that needed to be done ,I made myself the first on scene.

Working as a porter in this hospital for 4 years was complete mess. Most of the manager and supervisor would hassle to do more work. As a casual you get horrible pay plus a wage decrease for the past 2 years of my employment. I would not recommend anyone to go into this type of bad place

My work experience in Bankstown hospital was really amazing. Everyday i was in a different ward meeting new people. My favourite word was the maternity one as i love babies. Nurses were also really nice. It was very tiring though.

I had an awesome and enjoyable time as a student nurse at Bankstown Hospital. Very supportive and collaborative with the students and nurses. All were very educative and supportive during my time as a student nurse

Really enjoyed my student placement at Bankstown Hospital. My experience with the social work team was indeed rich and fruitful. The hospital overall is a very warm and friendly place to work.
