I have been with the company for approaching a year now, and honestly can say that it really is an overall positive and progressive organisation.

There are various new leaders in post and lots of exciting projects taking place or planned for the near future; all of which are geared to make the company an even better place to live and work. There is a lot of energy around in terms of sharing best practice and making improvements to ways of working - for the good of everyone from residents, staff and stakeholders.

Pay is highly competitive, and there is fantastic and very realistic scope to progress from within.

Visiting the homes is great as we do have some stunning sites, and excellent facilities and indeed lovely caring staff.

The homes (and therefore residents and staff) are seeing improvements in terms of menus/kitchens, training on offer for staff, new benefits package about to launch etc.

Pay rates have just been increased for many of the roles/homes and other incentives exist to earn rewards.

It really is a good place to come and do a rewarding role, with good career opportunities.

my typical shift at work would be get into work for 7.45pm get changed into work clothes. sign in at 8pm get a breifing from senior in charge be a signed my unit. make resident a cup of tea and some toast and a biscuit. check on residents already in bed. once residents where finished there tea and toast i would then assist them in getting ready for bed putting to bed those who wanted to go to bed and chatting with those who wanted to stay up a little longer. once everyone is in bed i would wipe down tables chairs and and bunker tops hoover the lounge floor empty rubbish bin and yellow bins then. i would also do my hourly round after i have done all this. i would then sit and read a book after every hourly check is done. i would also toilet residents and change pads on those who needed it through the night. i would start getting residents up washed and dressed between 7am and 8am.

Rumbling Bridge care home is a really great place to work, a team that works together and no question is ever too much hassle, there’s always someone to lend a hand if need be. Some days are harder than others due to working in a home with a specialise Huntingtons Disease Unit but there are Great training opportunities to support with this and to help in your role too. The staffing has improved greatly in my time here having less and less agency staff and building up a great staffing team of our own. Management are always approachable and friendly. If you’ve never worked in care before it’s a great place to start as it’s a very welcoming home.

The training is very good the staff are excellent and work to good standards.

The long hours it is a job you have to be alert and on your toes how can anyone be on their toes for 12 hrs especially when doin 4-5 days in a row

Very good there are workers from all around the world, get on well to make a decent team.

Busy and very challenging, but very rewarding I found that the residents were very challenging.

The service users, are lovely and if it's a good staff team you will have a great shift.

If there's short staffing problems, that makes it stressful.

When I was there, it was good.

Very busy in every way, but the day goes quickly. If you're on with a good team, that's half the battle.

Nothing wage rise is pathetic

The workload for poor money all positions payed the same regardless of site size

Pathetic unprofessional management team a Mickey Mouse company

Stressful getting hit from service users staff do not look after residents

The residents is the best part.

Not enough staff and always given more tasks that aren’t realistic in the time frame given

It’s terrible, long hours and barely get a break 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s a busy shift, lack of staff and agency staff means little breaks if any

The only positive thing I have to say for this company is its competitive salary. I have worked here for 4/5 years with no career progression at all. Bare minimum support from management and very poor shift flexibility. Managers approach situations completely unprofessionally breaching confidentiality on a regular basis. Courses you get put on are mandatory and are essentially ticky box exercises.

I'm 6 months into my role and am very impressed with the companies values and culture.

A company that really is all about caring for their residents and staff.
Every home has its own identity allowing it to be a "home from home" for our residents.

Most staff want to learn, want to improve and provide good care. 

Others, simply couldn’t care less. It doesn’t help when the organisation is led by incompetent, unqualified and greedy people. 

Don’t think they can survive for much longer.
