When i joined Balfours I was surprised to see the age and length of service many of the employees had. Quite a few had worked there since their teens and for many that meant over 40 years of service. There was a strong feeling of pride about the company and have to say I also found I quickly developed the same amount of pride and drive to see Balfours reclaim some of its former glory.
I loved my time there and loved the staff and managers that I had under me. They worked hard and were pleasurable to be around.
As a team I believe we tried our best to succeed,we all worked hard together to improve the efficiencies and cost reduction procedures that were implemented or developed by the team. 
The most enjoyable part of my day i have to say is working with the production staff and the Balfours management team and the staff on the production floor.
It's unfortunate to see manufacturing facilities go through such hard times but I feel sometimes Upper Management need to take a step back and look at new and more obscure ways of dealing with managers and staff. My criticisms of my time there is mainly the  constant lack of truth, communication, distrust and lack of respect  that seemed to be a constant complaint both of staff and fellow managers coming from the top.
I have to say the majority of staff worked hard but over the years the soul of Balfours has been destroyed and staff have turned into lacklustre employees making motivation and the want to do right a very hard task to maintain. Very hard place to motivate when your Management team feel the same.
I still respect Balfours and truly hope one day they succeed and get back on top.

A good place to work! my co-workers are good we have a table tennis table in lunch room,most work quite easy to learn, i get on well with my staff interact with people good! Most practical and physical jobs are quite basic i enjoy being in a happy enviroment but all jobs do have there ups and downs of course but you have to be able to overcome these things and learn how to set them aside and not affect how you work1

I was told at my interview that I would be going permanent and after 3 months of ongoing shifts ur lucky to get a shift. If you have a working visa or your a backpacker they will take you on and give you more shifts than anyone else. I gave up my permanent part time job because myself and another individual were called in to the office and we both got told they want us to become permanent and well that didn’t happen. And Some of the workers are so nasty it makes you feel uncomfortable. 

Arriving early for mass production of edible goods for large scale companies like airlines. How to operate large machinery and mass produce edible goods. Management was lacking and did not treat employees well. Co-workers got along well however there was some troublemakers. Working next to hot ovens on very hot days. Working with a large and diverse team.

Its a good place to work if you keep your mouth shut, follow everything they say and have a "yes sir no sir" work ethic. if you try to raise any concerns to management or possible improvements or ideas you will be disciplined. so if you like a meaningless job where you just rock up do the same thing everyday and enjoy working slow and having someone else cover you and do all of your work for you, you will love it there and do very well.

yes working dayshift .day to day lerning new skils good comunicaton with managment and werkers too,the hardest part of the job loading unloding becouse i used oldest manual jack the most enjoyeble job is driveng.

Extremely high rate of casual workers High turnover of workers The Management have no interest in Safety, Workers are only seen as a commodity to be used.Workers have no say at work just do what the company says

Cleaning of all production equipments/production areas/toilets.

Passion about hygiene, flexible, reliable and be able to work at a fast pace.

I enjoyed the fact, I was able to work shifts including early mornings and nights.

If you are looking for job security, this is not the place to be. They will hate you for no reason, because they feel you work too hard or lazy. They sac alot of staffs every month.
