Working at Baiada Poultry offered a hands-on experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. My role as a chicken breast trimmer involved repetitive tasks, working under machines, and maintaining a high standard of hygiene and food safety in a cold environment.

The work was physically demanding and required good attention to detail, especially to meet quality and speed expectations. The environment taught me how to stay focused, work efficiently under pressure, and be a reliable team member.

Management was task-focused and production-driven, and while communication could vary by team, clear expectations were generally set. Training was provided on procedures and safety protocols, which helped with understanding the importance of food quality and workplace cleanliness.

Baiada was a good opportunity to develop discipline, stamina, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting. It's a suitable workplace for individuals who are punctual, hardworking, and comfortable in a physically active role.



i really enjoyed myself working for Biaada.i learnt Heap's about how Chicken Farm was run.But i did sign a contract saying that i wouldn't leak information about what they do and how there Chicken Farm's work and run.i learnt to do Feed purchase orders. Autopsy's on Chicken's.Egg Collecting.Setting up the Sheds before the day old baby chicken's get delivered.For Clean out Dismantling sheds.Acid Dipping the Track's so they are sanitized an fumagated the whole sheds.used Gurnesy to spray down the 8 and 6 box nest frame's and all the outside Exhaust Fans. Set up the Cool Cells.there is so much more i can write about but that's it for now. Awsome place to work for.id be happy to work back there again for sure.

The owners of the company are very professional and a pleasure to work with.

There was nothing too stressful, just doing your job and doing it well and it will be recognised.

Outstanding, Baiada Poultry are always looking for ways to improve the environment in the way they process, packaging.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Enjoyable, a pleasure to go to work.
You never felt like you did not want to go to work, the culture is something that they are always strive to excel in.

The team members you get to work with are great, friendly and hepful. The staff members always lead you in the right direction. The work is good, but it takes time getting used to the placement of items. The break areas and toilets are easily accessible and they are available to use at any time. Well placed smoking areas all around the factory so it doesn't effect any non-smokers.

The only issue I had was due to a supervisor not corresponding with me with shifts. I was told by the agent the following day if I was not working. I was called infrequently and at random to work. The other issue I has were the placement of stock. There was no proper allocated slots and they expect you to just know and when the supervisor was asked he would answer in frustration. 

All in all everything in Baiada was great except one individual and his attitude towards workers.

Waking up at 4am to be at work by a 5am start, a shower was needed before every shift for OH&S purposes. Get dressed, oh&s needed to be worn (gloves, googles, hair net, either boots or gumboots, their company shirt and tracksuit pants). Then going out to the chick line and then sorting the chicks from boys to girls and pretty much doing that all day until all the orders had been filled The hardest part was dealing with the smell of the rotten eggs and dead baby chicks, you most defiantly needed a strong stomach for the job. In the end that was the reason why i left because i started to be getting sick at work. The best part about working there was in the egg room, it was clean, we could listen to the radio, from lifting all day (the pallets of eggs on to incubation trolleys) i started to tone up my arms which i was very happy with.

Sadly due to the fact that they are the MAIN/ONLY source of income for most people in Griffith it is a normal day at work to be yelled/screamed at all day long even for something small as standing and waiting for your next meat to come through.  Working conditions are poor they need to invest in better equipments to keep the workers warm as they are in the chillers all day long. Management can be a pain at time as they get very strict orders from the top with a short time frame therefore they need to take it out on the workers. Staff morale is poor also feels as if they want you to come to work get the orders done with a ridiculous deadline then go home they do not care if you are ok etc...!!

Despite being a multi-million dollar business, Baiada is a very disorganised business at the highest level. It is questionable whether those in charge of particular departments are suitable for their roles and the work place holds a culture of "passing the buck". Taking accountability for errors virtually doesn't exist and the level of respect for its workers is very low.

Some bosses are great but others leave a lot to be desired. I worked various hours in hopes of securing a full-time job but remained casual for over a year. No real chance to move anywhere with the business favouring their "buddies" over people who can really get the job done.

Was an interesting experience but poor management and lack of communication eventually lead me to leave.

i cant see anything, i dnt know but they should focus on fair salary between casual and fulltime. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
the old people, the bossy type one that will make u resign and the old method and outdated farming practises and the old equipment

its like a political type of culture. its very uncomfortable to work specially when u see some people who like to bring you down

tired everyday. not worth it if you compare the salary between work load. there's a lot of company that will give u a good salary start. not worth it to stay

My experience with current worplace has been generally positive. Over the past 3 years working at Baiada Poultry has provided me with the opportunity to gain various skills associated with this industry. Such skills range from pick and packing, cold room experience to general factory skills. I have also devloped excellent rapport with my colleagues within this dynamic workplace. 
Baiada also provides sufficient training to staff to work in different department or perform other duties where required

• Hours are very good but overtime can be frustrating sometimes.
• Communications are outstanding 
• team work is very important and the team members were supportive.

Note: when you're meeting or communicating with new members, leading hand and your supervisor don't be rude, just be nice and do what you are told to do,  everything will flow smoothly.

 In your first day, you will be treated as a new student in school but as days and weeks go by you will be expected to work without any supervision. 
Although the work is non-skilled required, it is fast paced and its always have been, you have to be a quick leaner.
The work environment is below 5° and you'll be standing the whole 10 hours or so while working which very hard for most people . The  Pay is excellent!
