Great place to work if you enjoy working unsupervised , all hours of the day, night, fast paced customer service using high tech registers touchscreen point of sale.  Great team work with lots of staff meetings and upgrading skills and safety awareness. Easy to wear uniform that looks good with the company logo.  Hardest part of the job is making sure customers use possible dangerous equipment e.g petrol pumps correctly to prevent, fires, explosions and accidents .  Most enjoyable part of the job is having lots of promotions, sales, and petrol fuel discounts.  Managers are really good during the day except do not rooster any at night .  What i learned is that lots of people use petrol and like to hear about new environmentally friendly fuel types that are coming out like ultimate fuel and will pay for the extra cost.  Also in the retail section the wild bean cafe is popular for people and the coffee made is fresh and good tasting with good value packs like muffin meals to purchase.  All the food is fresh and there are a variety of brands to choose from.

I had fantastic Managers and work colleagues that looked out for each other

Getting duties done while trying to search were hard when only one staff only working 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Was a good working environment, have duty roster to follow, most staff were always good at completing although at times you couldn’t there was always help from staff or managers. We usually always had fun happy staff that were always supportive to others. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Always busy serving customers or duties, every day was different with the people you connected with. Managers were always 100% supportive

Every day is different, can get busy at peak times, but then slows down which is good gives you plenty of time to get jobs done, management are good with training and once know what your doing the job is easy and fun, hardest part was learning the computer BUT plenty of training and easy once shown how ! You get to meet alot of different people both locals and travellers, be upfront with hours you can or want to do, does include weekend work but shared amongst the team and always easy to swap shifts if need for social appointments etc. Would recommend working there, good company that looks after their staff, and you get a 10% staff discount on shop items.

I enjoyed my time working for BP Australia. The hours were rostered to fit in with the times I could work, and the remuneration was very satisfactory. 
A typical day would involved serving customers (both for petrol and products from the BP shop), restocking, cleaning and tidying, taking deliveries and ordering. I learned new health and safety routines including fire drills and how to deal with fuel spills.
I really liked the team atmosphere within the company and the satisfaction gained from the overall team coordination. The managerial support was very good with workday responsibilities clearly explained and good follow up.

My duties on a usual day would involve entering the back office data and cash handling / supervising counter and café staff plus covering breaks for these staff while building a good working relationship / reviewing store stock controls and maintaining stock levels,/  ensuring all maintenance, safety and food service standards are met. / Because of the 24/7 operation ASM's are one of the on call management for emergencies and " not show"  staff making personal life a little unpredictable / I enjoyed the involvement with both employees  and customers and the varied tasks that I was required to do on any given day.

Login and logoff as you arrive and finish. Check if the security system is working. Check with the other person being relieved need to communicate through any messages and look at the notice board for any general messages.
Start your shift and serve the customers and manage till properly while ensuring the safety of everyone. Always being vigilant by looking for any inappropriate acts or drive offs.
Fill up and front face the stock as I get time to make sure the shop looks full and convincing to the customers. Perform daily routine task based on the list of duties for that day. 
Report any issues to my line manager and communicate any information in the group.

You start your shift with a safety walk/check to make sure all is as it should be for when you start. Management has a list of jobs for you to complete throughout your shift so begin them while there's still a co-worker in the store to assist with customer service. There's nothing particularly hard about this job as long as your willing to put in the effort...my least favourite part would have to be cleaning the diesel pump. And the most enjoyable part is having a bit of fun and a laugh with colleagues, getting to know your regular customers and building friendships. It makes me happy to see someone leave my store happy.

Nothing is good, there is no appreciation for loyalty, bad management and they can never staff right

Overworked, understaffed and nothing like the job role advertised

Worst environment and culture i have ever worked for. No loyalty or understanding and you get rewarded for being a bad employee where longer employed workers are mistreated and overlooked for promotions

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
To much work expected of us with only 2 people staffed on

i worked along side my parents, because we were a gas station and we sold country fried chicken no one was working by them self. a usual day at work would be our side getting busy and the staff working down the chicken end would help me out with serving customers and the same for them, i would go and help there end if it was needed and we would give each other breaks.
the bad part about it was that we had some staff not pulling their weight or not willing to change their ways to benefit the store

Love chatting with people from all walks of life. Basically people are just in and out but manage to have a short conversation that keeps us connected. Getting to know people, their need assessment and prompt service to meet their needs in really a short period of time is the achievement. Again, going above and beyond in helping those people in need in the possible ways is the joy of customer service.
