In my role as Commissioning Superintendent I was responsible for all Personnel, Assets and equipment on site (Gas Compression facility) and acted in an onsite Commissioning Managers role. I held the title of SSM (Site Safety Manager) of which was a responsibility that was legally binding with the Petroleum and Gas Act. I managed a Commissioning team of approximately 50 personnel of all disciplines eg... Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Automation Systems, HSE, Quality, Completions, Document Control, Administration etc.. My deliverable was to take the Compression facilities from a C2 stage (Construction) through to C5 stage (Operations) this entailed walk downs, Punch Listing and acceptance of the Construction build, Pre Commissioning/field checks, Wet Commissioning/live testing/energisation, Process Commissioning/live testing with Process and Project Handover to Operations along with maintaining the completions package and all quality documentation. The project had an aggressive schedule to maintain through out the Commissioning Phase of which was successfully achieved with the contributions of a hard working team that held safety and quality as a priority. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with a talented team that shared the same goals as I had towards safety and quality and being able to complete the project as a team without incident or injury whilst maintaining an aggressive schedule.

My typical day would be to recalculate stores stock at the start of the day, receive emails of delivery dockets and enter into data system and any problems I would phone stores an talk to them and resolve the issues, if the problems could not be solved with stores  then I would talk to procurement . After finishing receiving stock I would go onto transferring stock from one store to the next.  I had a great crew to work with. The hardest part of my job was to solve some issues of delivery dockets  and solving the problems.  This was a  enjoyable part of my job  as it was challenging and rewarding at the getting the problem solved and I had some great people to work with along the way. At the end of the day I had to do Report and send it to all management to keep them posted with what was happening with in and out going stock. By sending this report management would be able to see if there where problems and if and how they were solved. I really enjoyed my job, the mixing with co workers with different nationalities.

Ongoing maintenance, care and reporting on machinery.
Management and co-workers were directive and co-operative respectively.
Hardest part of the job was alternating between day/night shift.
Most enjoyable part of the job was group task achievement.

Started on Curtis Island as a Bus Driver for 1year then had the opportunity to drive trucks. Responsible for driving, loading and looking after a tilttray. Learnt how to use the proper load restraints, more forklift operations and labouring.  Completed mainland and Island deliveries.

It was hard work but I enjoyed the variety of the work and the people I worked with and liaised with

follow all workplace rules and regulation, follow all plans and get my part of the job done as safe as possible.
learned to manage my time on time on site to better safe and work goals daily.
always had a great relationship and always worked well in teams.
i don't find my job that hard if you work in a team and follow all procedures and help each other.
satisfaction of completing my part of the job.

Had a very diversed cultural team but we all put in the effort to communicate with each other to overcome barriers and conflict.
Hardest part of the job was just trying not to become too complacent especially when tasks became repetitive.

Excellent working conditions that suited self-starters. Increase in project scope meant new facilities and IT infrastructure commissioning made for very exciting and dynamic challenges. Management Team was a pleasure to part of.

Working FIFO has the benefits of a work rest ratio as well as the pay packet to go with it. It does get tough the longer you are away from home if you have a family and kids you leave behind a for 3 weeks. But have a goal and understand its not forever this industry does have its perks.

You start with pre start,then go to where you work tasks is ,fill out a start card ,proceed to join pipe,co-works were very helpful.Very hot and humid  management did there best to keep work flowing ,and the best part about the job was meeting new people.
