A Typical day of work would be 6-9 hours maybe 12 hours around christmas. Most days i wouldn't get a lunch break. My co workers were amazing, helpful until i got my bearings on the workplace and learnt where everything was stored and how to prep everything. Management was always on my back asking me to do multiple things at once, sometimes expect me to do 4 things at once, i don't mind doing them one by one and rotating making sure everything is in place, except he wanted me to things on the other side of the store whilst working on one thing at all times on one side. The hardest part of the job was working 12 hours for 4 days in a row. I enjoyed the fact it kept me busy and i felt as the workplace was a nice environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with staff, interacting with polite customers. I enjoyed working at Aussie Seafood House for the experience. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Always working at a fast pace as staff can complain about another staff to not give a shifts. Always work at a fast pace to avoid not getting any shifts!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I enjoyed talking to most staff. The environment is okay. There is obviously a seafood smell when you walk in and out of the business, however it goes away the more you work i realised. 👍🏼 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Serving customers, cleaning windows and scales, restocking items and shelves.

One of the owner’s son also wasn’t very nice, he belittled me and was very judgmental. Other staff members that I worked with briefly before they left also felt the same way. The other staff that I saw there regularly were friendly and helpful so it was fun working with them.. My hours were regular for a bit, giving me Tuesday to Friday 6-8hrs shifts before they cut me down to 2-3 shifts a week. The company always seemed to be hiring new people often. I only stayed there for about 8months before I suddenly didn’t get any more hours for 3 weeks straight and I didn’t receive any information from them at all about my employment status so I just quit. Management isn’t very good in that regard with staff.

The place was generally okay to work at, I learnt a lot and gained confidence. THE ONLY THING the lack of breaks, I would get one 15 minute break in a 10 hour shift, sometimes none if I worked lesser hours. I was mostly disappointed about my xmas eve shift, which was 12 hours. I didn't get a proper sit down break at all, they instead offered us snacks to eat during the shifts to keep us going. Isn't this illegal?

a typical day at work consisted of making salt brines for the seafood to be shipped out as well as unpacking oysters and prawns. I learned how to be apart of a team as the management was very good as well as fellow employees. the hardest part of the job is the physical activity required. the most enjoyable part is socialisation with co workers while working.

They were helpful in teaching life skills as well as helping you improver your work ethic. They would teach skills that you would use not only there but in any other workplace and even skills you would use in your everyday life. They were culturally inviting. i enjoyed the work environment was everyone who worked there was friendly and made every day great.

Do not work for this place! So so so unprofessional, I’m 18 and could probably run this business better than the boss. Old mate doesn’t know what he’s doing. “Urgently hiring” yet a month ago they had like 500 new people working there and cut everyone who’s been there for ages hours. This place is so awful to work for, if you are looking for a job wait out a little longer coz this ain’t worth it, it really ain’t.

I really enjoyed my time at seafood house. A typical day at work would be to put your gum boots on and start serving as customers they were usually lined up at the door before opening. It was a very busy place and your shift was over before you knew it. The hardest part of the job was washing your uniform.

Uses potential junior staff for unpaid shifts. This company has used several school students for the past 6 months so that they could get free shifts out of kids who don't know any better. Employees are extremely nice and always try to help out but at the end of the day you're still going home smelling like fish. Do not recommend at all.

Mainly physical labour interspersed throughout the day with serving customers. Gained an understanding of warehousing, pick and packing of orders. Working in a team environment where completion of one's own tasks often dictated the success and performance of the entire staff crew.
