Being a large company with multiple branch locations the culture of the organisation changed slightly depending on the location.  However, overall the culture was good with high moral.

Most of my days were planning and coordinating of different departments to deliver the requirements of our customers.  Meeting with the department heads to set strategies or resolve issues.

Management of the NSW/ACT branches involved budgeting and monitoring of costs and revenue.  Often control measures would be implemented or strategic decisions made by myself and executed by my staff for the benefit of the business, not only within my region but  for the Asia Pacific region as a whole.

I also formed part of the Executive Management Team to formulate and execute strategies for the whole company.

The hardest part of the role was innovation and changing the mindset of long term employees to have a more "can do" attitude.

The most enjoyable part of the role was formulating strategies and the execution of these.  I greatly enjoyed leading the team in substantial growth in EBITDA.  The team were great to work with and lead.

if you make a mistake, everyone blames you.
If someone else makes a mistake, everyone still blames you.
in-fact, it seems to be a full time effort just deflecting blame of other staff deficiencies 
There is a septic attitude internally and it starts with Management. 
Training is available, but you'll never have time to go through any of it, and if you do you'll be blamed for not doing your job properly.
Finding the time to be able to execute your job correctly is a rare opportunity at Ausco, with most of your time being applied to fixing other peoples mistakes.
Hardest part of the day is being left to do your work
the easiest part of the day is going home.

Manage pre-start meeting and complete report of this meeting.
Issue permits as required.
Complete a site field inspection and report any issues to the site manager.
Inductions---complete and copy all relevant information.
Walk the site and check on JSA’s and work procedures.
Complete any reports needed by the site manager and or the project manager.
Complete a site field inspection in the afternoon and report any issues to the site manager.
Close out any permits expiring.
Meet with site manger to discuss next day’s activities and prepare paper work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very supportive team. Good leadership. Compassionate managers and team members. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant change to scheduled jobs.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great culture, everybody is respectful and always helpful

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
starting at 07:30 to 15:30. Processing new sales and attending to trucks coming in and going out of the yard. Keeping production schedule updated.

Most forward-thinking workplaces genuinely seek opinions from all staff without any recriminations. This is not the case at Ausco. If you have an opinion that differs from management, you will be ignored. If you have suggestions to improve processes, they will be submitted by a manager in their name. There is an old-boys network in play that will ensure only sycophants are given the time of day.

Ausco Modular was a fantastic place to work. I would spend most of my day chasing outstanding debts, via fax, phone or emails. Sometimes I was required to help out on Reception or other departments if needed, a team environment with approachable mangers though out the company. A great work life balance very understanding company on every level. I enjoyed chasing outstanding debts and the feeling you get when the moneys received.

Daily we would check with the superviser about what I need to do that day. Go to where I would be working. I learned all areas of building modular buildings and also got a cert 3 of carpentry. Most times working together in a team of 10 or more people working together to get job done. I like to make things so I got to  building

Ausco was always a good place to work from my fist day to last.
Team was good and always assisted one another when needed.
It has a good social club that ensures all are treated the same and you didn't feel an them and us environment at the social functions.
Hard work should always be rewarded and this was the case at Ausco..

Very much a company which is not monitoring its staff. Project managers are given the title and no support to ensure help is given or projects are being managed to their best.
Pay rates are varsly different between sites and work is not consistent.
