What is the best part of working at the company?
Good training good pay great communication with managers but like every company some support workers bring bad attitudes Aruma has those as well can’t help it

Bad support workers that lie manipulate and suck up to management

Great and environment  good atmosphere again only takes a  couple bad apple to wreck that environment

I work 1 on 1 with male non verbal clients I do my best to give them there best life

It's challenging each day but can also be very rewarding. The pay is higher than other providers also. You also get Fitness Passporto

Behaviours of concern can be very challenging

Depending on the house, depends on the culture. Still a lot of support workers who have an institutionalised approach but more people with a holistic approach coming through

Flat out. No time to stop. Challenging but rewarding

Terrible management, manipulative,  badly organised and many gaps left to support staff to fill.  Dangerous workplaces high needs violence, manipulative behaviours, no routines and no boundries. Lacking meaningful conceptional and operational definitions and structure.  Working over and above reasonable hours. Staff put in danger. Not enough communication, support, planning.  Danger to your job security and your personal health and job integrity. Management bias towards some staff both favourites and forced to leave. Customers medical and psyc needs neglected. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being allowed to make decisions that are supported by senior management at exec level.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unrealistic targets and goals being set annually. Becomes very deflating.

Culture and values are very high on the agenda amongst all team members. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Focussing on achieving business results while ensuring the clients are supported.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Absolute corupt upper management that will cover up their stuff ups at the expense of the worker. A no care, budget first organization.

Upper management out to get the staff for their stuff ups.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poisoness, toxic management. They do not care about the welfare of staff.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressfull and sometimes dangerous

Being able to work with different types of disabilities 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not being able to defend yourself from violent behaviours.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great. You get to understand and appreciate their ways of work ethics 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy with the customers when they get back from being out for the day.

Rewarding work when you have ongoing clients who you form great bonds with 
Difficult shift times sometimes but it’s the nature of the job too, so great for working parents who need either night work or school hours as lots of little shifts available
Not so good if you want longer shifts can be hard to find and end up spending more time driving than working with no petrol allowance 


Aruma is a great organization that let staff make the best of their career through support from management and co-staff. It provides the opportunity for learning and capacity development to staff to develop through the organisation.

The delusion about what matters is strong.
They like to tell staff about the 15 million dollar debt they are in instead of having house keeping money available to buy participants groceries. 

Staff and participants are great. Staff are the heart of the company. Upper management are unhelpful, degrading, ignorant, and honestly useless when it comes to raising any concern about participants care.

I’ve now been with Aruma for over 18mths and have enjoyed and grown within the environment. 
I enjoy the team I work with and can ask for support when ever I need. 
A very respectful company to work for.
