Chronic operational dysfunction with no meaningful change despite ongoing feedback. Unclear leadership oversight and constant crisis management replace structured practice. Inconsistent standards and mounting caseloads create ongoing stress, exacerbated by chronic understaffing. Clinicians carry excessive workloads in a reactive culture driven more by compliance fear than quality care. High performers are expected to absorb systemic failures, including poorly managed client boundaries. Clinicians spend more time managing emails and dysfunction than practicing effectively. Leadership is disengaged, resources are inadequate, and burnout is common. Strong boundaries are essential to survive here.
Compensation does not reflect workload expectations or comparable market rates.
There is minimal support, limited recognition, and no clear accountability within leadership. Flexibility is one of the few redeeming features. I would not recommend this workplace to clinicians seeking structure, support, or sustainable practice.

I have been with the company (previously Healthstrong) for the past 4+ years working mainly in RACF but now in community visits. The company has a high employee turnover with minimal interest to provide replacement, leaving current employees over-worked. Work loads are unpredictable, poorly balanced, with minimal to no support provided. We are currently using a new software that is not user friendly at all- disrupts work time and eats into personal time without support for overtime. My team leader is friendly and supportive which makes it easier, she is great. They encourage practitioners to complete own CPD learnings ie Dry needling, acupuncture, manual therapy, but are not providing experience to flex skills due to minimal variety of case conditions taken since we are taking in the same cases. They initiated a regular internal CPD discussion but have stopped. I am feeling a plateau with my professional growth, and the company seems passive towards progress. With technical issues, IT support- quick to respond but disruptive during work hours. Staff are nice, but management lacks support and expects a lot from us.

-Unreasonable workload (38 hours week of hands on massage aka "pain management"/ plus daily documentation requires often completed outside of working hours).

 -Minimal support, Team leaders/ Clinical leads often too busy with administrative tasks, supervision was never provided.

- Contractor role based in multiple aged care facilities, where you are treated as second class healthcare professionals, disrespected, bullied into doing a role you never were prepared for.

-HR and scheduling team based in Sydney, unrealistic expectations of travel between locations, poorly managed systems. 

- Recently acquired by Medibank, however often treated as two separate entities yet CEO preaches "Better Together, strong as one team" 

- Personal ethics will be challenged daily by expectations of clients for practitioners to be masseuse for 50 people in a working day.

Communication is pretty much non existant, apart from minimal electronic communication.
Conflicting directions from managememt and unrealistic expectations of staff.
Very very poor technical support.
Low pay rate and no scheduled performance reviews even when requested.
Can see how new graduates without experience get taken advantage of. 
Great if you are a "yes" employee only.
Strongly reccomend against working for Healthstrong.
Payroll support staff are rude and dismissive.

Senior managers were totally clueless about health and clinical quality, and therefore did not support with things like managing clinicians who were not acting in an ethical or professional manner. 
Workload not shared evenly and concerns raised fell on deaf ears
Large teams with not enough support from enablement functions like HR, clinical governance, quality and training. 
As roles are mostly work from home, and the business offers no other competitive benefits, it attracts and retains some really undesirable staff who are not competently delivering. 
I was very concerned about the level of service being delivered across the business and as a result, would not trust Amplar to care for a friend or family member. 


I started my new grad OT year with HealthStrong last year. For the first couple of weeks i felt quite overwhelmed as i was finally putting into practice what i learnt at uni however it made it so much easier by having the support of my peers and clinical lead. What i love most is that i have the autonomy that i need to be able to stand on my own 2 feet whilst having my clinical lead available to me either via phone , Skype or from time to time face to face.

Social activities are fun and team grad meetings have been really useful for CPD. Really enjoying my time here as i can voice what i need to my clinical lead and we work on ways for me to better improve as an OT

Micromanaging,  incompetent team leaders who are overworked and in over their heads. Nursing clinical practice from some nurses is poor. A couple of very good nurses. Alot of work has to be done in your own time and you get contacted on your days off. The good staff are not valued at all. No appreciation for good character or good work. They don't care if good staff resign as they just keep advertising.  There is a huge turnover of staff. Poor attitude and resistant to change or improving. Backstabbing and gossiping is rife

I lasted two months working for HSS. Management is toxic, busy phone queues with no assistance whatsoever, understaffed, under appreciated and under valued in every aspect. The reason why the pay looks so good is because of the amount of bull**** you have to put up with! Everyone is miserable, from the phone centre staff to the nurses... Very toxic atmosphere. I went on stress leave after a week and once I was able to secure another job I was out of there. The instant anxiety and stress went as soon as I left the door.

Nothing. Its not worth your own health and well-being. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Kpi' s are unachievable. Management is poor. Support is lacking. Pay is low. Extreme stressful.

Poor culture. Ack oof respect for frontline workers. Bullying tactics. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Ridiculously stressful with micromanagement ++++++
