Yes it does have the freedom to chose with working hours you can assign and it used to be great but lately it has been strained cause there is no job security if you don’t get blocks then ofcourse you’re not making any income. I’ve noticed that they seem to have a preferential to only lure you in getting any many drivers as possible so they don’t have a loss cause ofcourse more drivers means less blocks so when it comes to less blocks that means they will lay off people like me who has been working for them for the past 2 years now. I tried to ask them why I haven’t been receiving any blocks like I used to but then they make an excuse by saying they’re not making any sales where as myself as a customer I have ordered things from Amazon during the time where I’m sitting home hoping for a block and some other Amazon Flex delivery partner delivering me my order so I asked them why I haven’t been receiving any blocks and their main excuse as always is, to follow their guideline on how to look for blocks by refreshing their Offers page which is how you get your coming weeks roster on Friday between 6 to 9 pm which I had been doing so over and over constantly during that time and there is not a single reserved block availability for me, it is so stressful when you know that you won’t have a work this coming week which you had been relying on, now it’s been 2 weeks that I have been laid off. I tried to take this matter to Fair Work Ombudsman even they don’t care or have the power to take them to question because they don’t think they’re doing anything wrong maybe it’s the lack of sales they’re making but as an independent contractor these companies lure you into signing up with them until they have no use for you by using that scheme of “Independent Contractor” by not providing any job security for you. Which is like Uber/Doordash or other foreign delivery services. There should be a reform on this industry to protect vulnerable people like me who relies on making income everyday due to reasonable circumstances.

I liked working for Amazon at first, because the flexibility and potential to earn great money at short notice suited my lifestyle.
However, they kicked me off the app with no warning. Nothing.
I have tried to sign up again multiple times, and their support team is useless. They just send an automated bot email stating I have more than 2 accounts and I should login to the one already established. Then continue to state that if that doesn't work to contact "support".
Their "support" team are pathetic and useless. Barely know English and what you're asking them at any given time.
I would not recommend working here, mainly because of the support team that doesn't exist (can't even reach them by phone) and also the numerous ID checks they do at some of their stations for van drivers. It can be irritating when cars don't need to show ID at all ever, but Van drivers do.  Worst system they have set up and the warehouse team members in the Flex stations can be really rude. Need more training of their staff. I'd give this company 1/5 stars.

I actually love working for flex. I can work when I want and I can have days off when I want!

You work as a contractor so you essentially work for yourself under your own ABN, but you partner with flex and schedule blocks through their app. 

I love the 4 hour blocks. Usually I get it done in time. I got faster with experience too. 

If you need driver support during your run, they will call you back immediately and fix your issue. They’re really nice. 

Warehouse staff are really nice and they help you on your first day with everything. 

Packages amounts vary, today I did a 4 hour block with 48 packages to deliver and 46 stops (some addresses have multiple packages). 

The app is so easy and tells you everything. It’s a great technology. 

I don’t work at Amazon every day because I do get tired, but I make around $30/hr when I do work and it’s fun!

Amazon flex is a great way to earn extra money on the side on your days off or on the weekend. Blocks of 4 or 5 hours are most common (you will complete this much earlier) and earn between $108 to $180 before tax for the block. You receive around 25-55 packages and you deliver using their app which is good. You could get sent to any corner of your city but the run is together in that suburb or surrounding suburbs. If you have anything left that couldn't be delivered it gets returned to base. Good little money earning but don't use it as your sole relied on income. Occasionally they will recruit extra that flood the pool of drivers meaning more competition for getting available blocks. Get increased rates on wet or hot days as many don't want to take work on these days.

Working for amazon flex is a waste of time. I have applied for this gig to see if its worth it But it wasn't worth it. You make about $30 an hour working only 4 hours a day. (As a subcontractor) So You use you're own car, Fuel. Amazon Flex will not cover the expenses. You can choose what area you wanting to deliver to. But the places get taken fast due to the increase numbers of flex drivers. Faster you work the more you get. I would highly recommend someone who is looking for work to look else where. Amazon flex requires you're ABN to start this. You book the job on the flex app (Needs to be downloaded from the web. Not available in app store, play store.)

On August 15, 2023, I arrived at the Amazon Flex (DQD1) warehouse around 2:00 PM. I was the first in line, but for some reason, they gave me the packages last, causing all the vehicles behind me to wait until I finished. However, the packages weren't scanned for a long time, and the staff couldn't assist me. In the end, I spent about an hour waiting, but I didn't receive the packages. I had spent 2 hours of my time on the road, and also used money for gas. Thanks to Amazon Flex and their excellent personnel, I ended up losing $50 from my wallet. If you have extra money and plenty of free time, Amazon Flex is exactly what you need.

at first, it seemed like a pretty easy job, pick up and deliver. We even thought they consider your distance from home to delivery working your way back close to home. Then we discovered they send you anywhere without considering how long it would take you to get home. After driving for 8 hours then another 2 hours to get home. They could have some can of a system in place for those who live north and those who live south and work it that there isn't a long drive home. The pay is not worth all the work that a person puts in

I just wondering why they advised this job while they have not enough run to keep their current drivers busy. They just give us 3 shifts per week and then we need sit and wait for next week. They blame drivers for every thing. Very poor support. If you need help or have question you just have an email to contact them and always you receive a same response from a bot. Every shift you need to travel from bella vista or regent Park to city or North of Sydney like Manly Mosman Mona Vale belgohla height or new port with atleast 85 stops. Totally it's just wast time. And you got deactivated one day morning without any explanation 

Not worth the time or effort. You’re assigned delivery blocks, but you have no control over where you’re sent. My first delivery route took me out to a remote area with no GPS signal and no phone reception, so I couldn’t call for help. I felt unsafe delivering to large, isolated properties where you’re expected to enter the property to drop off packages. You’d only consider doing this if you were extremely desperate for money and even then, it’s still not worth the fuel costs, the time, or the stress of being sent to unsafe locations.

I've been held back in a lot of ways by both depression and social anxiety. And aside from a brief period a few years ago, in which I stayed with some relatives, I've never lived away from home. I've decided that, despite the daunting financial challenges, I'll be moving out sometime in early 2017. Since I don't have any friends, I'll probably have to room with strangers. And it would definitely help to have a job that pays well - preferably $10 an hour or more. The cost of living in my area is quite high. I'd like to only work around thirty hours a week, so that I can also focus on college - but I'll need decent income to make that happen.
