There's too much to say.  I'll start with the good. Typically, if you're a good worker you can expect a good number of shifts consistently. However, the agency they have employed on occasions does appear to split these shifts of reliable and hardworking team players in favour of handing more shifts to other newer workers which I have heard is because they will receive government benefits per every employee employed. 

The next and pretty much only other good thing besides decent job security (and that's if you're physically strong, fast and friendly) is just getting to meet and socialise with workers and friends in a decentralised on the floor environment (probably not so much on the morning shifts since the top managers come down to hassle you).

There's a plethora of negative things to say about this company. First and foremost it is their increasingly slavery-like sweatshop kinda ethic towards work. They would like increased output whilst cutting down team numbers considerably across the different stations.

Newer machinery is the main attributor to this, however, the machines on most lines are heavily faulty and always need attention. Maintenance on some days are running non-stop, it would be wise to employ perhaps two on some nights.

Other things which they've sort of improved on but still need a lot of work on are the air-conditioners, they don't circulate into much needed areas. They were installed last summer but before that they were using about 2-3 fans across a whole area. One time there was only one on a day that was scorching hot, like above 35c kinda hot and the manager told us to put the fan on the machinery instead of the workers.

I hope that somewhat shows the type of incompetent management that we can have. Top management comes down to usually only complain and see fault without even firstly greeting workers, so when they do it appears insincere . Not to mention they can be extremely rude and utterly unreasonable when we have an issue, especially when some workers are being pushed to their limits physically. I think they sometimes forgot we are working as one.

More problems include nepotism in promotions, super heavy proofer doors which they have since replaced last year. I'm sure they ruined a lot of backs in that time though where they instead prioritised on new lines instead of making the workplace safe. More include trolleys with wheels that don't even move with product on them close to 100kgs at times. Very casual changeovers of products without cleaning trays properly (don't know why they don't employ more cleaners to do things correctly but they're probably trying to reach some targets/bonuses and minimise workers ever more so). With that also tin cutters which don't work and do occasionally shed metal into the product. A lot of slippery surfaces, water, oil, flour are dangerously scattered in some areas.

The management don't get along, and it snowballs down to the workers. I heard managers swearing at my boss, name calling and yelling. people are fun to work wit but staff dont get respect from management or the,company. maybe its just the tulla site, I dont know. only worked there 6months and there was no health and safety, no benefits, only good thing was the chances to learn the machines. There was no real training tho, just what the team leader decided to show u. they went thru two site managers in the months I workd there. and the pay is low for three amount of physical work I had to do. hated it.

This was an excellent company being Goodman Fielder when I first started.
This job was dealing with Bakers - phoning & taking their orders every day & ensure the products were delivered promptly.
This was a very rewarding position & the rapport building with the bakers was very important.  
This company had very high standard & expected top performance from their employees.  
The most enjoyable parts of this job was the internal staff interaction & being able to provide great service to the customer.
I would still be with Goodman Fielder if the Customer Call Centre still been in Queensland.

Working at Allied is okay. hard work, theres always something to do.
the leadership side is good, team leaders always willing to give a hand.
Allied has a major cultural background of New Zealanders.
Allied has help me gain better time management.
Shifts are most like 8hrs a day, and at least 4-5 days a week.
meeting new people, other employees are always great.
Vibe of the work place is great.
shift times can be hard at times. 6am - 2am, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am.

Start at 10.00pm make sure all production line have the ingredients they need .Go to palletising room check for full pallets if any are there wrap pallet and move into freezer.Walk around site to see if there any cleaning required.Ask other workers if there is anything that they require.Just before finish do stock count of stock on site.

Work with 12 sites to help the sites change the current process though pattern and track actual production process to ensure a consistent finish product which is within specification.

Very early starts.
Unpaid overtime a usual part of the week.
Never any feedback on performance (annual reviews were general about the team not the individual)

It was a great and enjoyable experience and it was great to learn different ways and other areas within the company and a good environment to work within and workers are always to help and support you 

I do enjoy working in this place, I’m just not getting paid enough for the work and hours I put in. I’m a really good asset to any company and the guy I drive for does not want me to go but he couldn’t afford to pay me more
