The Reality:
This isn't a place for "potential" or "career journeys." It is a high-volume, high-pressure machine. Claims do not stop coming in. You aren't here to innovate; you are here to execute. If you can’t handle a relentless pace and a "serious work" atmosphere, save everyone the time and don't apply.

The Culture:
It’s a mixed bag of leadership-some people belong in their seats, others clearly don't. But regardless of who is sitting shoulder to shoulder in open plan desks with you, the mandate is the same: Follow the process. If you can navigate the personalities and the politics long enough, you’ll figure out how to survive, but don't expect the company to invest in you. Everyone is a bum on a seat and is replaceable, even if they call you "Fam" at every team meeting. You'll be forgotten as soon as you leave.

The Verdict:
With AI on the horizon, the "rules and process" focus is only getting tighter. Clock in, follow the manual to the letter, and clock out. If you’re looking for self-development or a "people-first" culture, keep looking. This is a "do the work and go home" revolving shop.

Training that only consists of how great Allianz is and where there from and code of practice E-learns. Product training your actual day to day job you won’t get training for and it will be up to your manager who apparently has meetings all day and everyday and can’t talk to you so just YOLO it and prey. 

Top management severely out of date and refuse to change anything have the well it’s always been done that way mentality. 

I must admit though they are supportive of personal issues and can be quite flexible with work from home and special needs. 

Severely out of date system. New system which is meant to be fancy is bad and, clunky and was out of date on arrival. 

Process….well what processes no central database with processes there all in random locations and often lead to a dead link. What processes there are, are hard to read and overly complex to read. 

QA team and barely knows the process and you will often have to dispute there ratings for them to eventually come back that you were right or for them to say they just prefer to you to write something a certain way and source a guide as evidence and then on reading the guide it says nothing to support them. 

In short you Allianz set there front line staff up for failure. 

Process insurance renewals, endorsements and new business applications through the system.
Manage gateways that brokers send through closings and other general enquiries.
Register through the gateway all renewals, endorsements and new businesses.
Make sure all documents from closing, terms and rater match before processing.
Answer the phone calls as per the Allianz phone standards.
Work with all aspects of the business, eg Underwriting, BDM’s, etc to ensure all renewals, new business and endorsements are correct and completed to SLA’s.

Learned a new system I have never worked with before
management was not the greatest and little recognition for the hard work that is put in.
Co-workers quite but lovely people was a very multicultural environment
Nothing was really hard about the job but probably learning the new products that need to be processed.
Enjoyable was part taking in a found raiser for the office and making cupcakes for the RSPCA

It took in excess of 3 months to finally receive my letter of offer which left me unemployed for a month. I then received a reduced offer of only 6 months despite the advertisement for a 12-month contract online. I arrived to find the software to be outdated and inefficient.

The Office location is brilliant, right on Melbourne central. 

The actual computers, keyboards, and chairs were so worn and gross that it was unpleasant to use. I ended up bring in my own keyboard. 

I was barely paid the industry minimum, and the scale of expectation was impossible to accept. One person in the entire nation came close to reaching the department KPI. This meant the opportunity to increase your wage was solely through the change of roles. 

I found the staff to be of an excellent standard, smart, engaged and hardworking. I would recommend hiring a former Allianz staff as they were all eager to learn and strive for excellence. 

The organisational structure left all service level staff with little chance to advance internally.

Allianz says a great many things… it lives up to none of it, not for the lack of effort from some middle management.

It offers work life balance, only if you are in a position to negotiate, otherwise you work as they see fit. Work life balance is for those not in the contact center. 

You are there to work and work you will, burn out and staff turn over is a great cost to all businesses, but Allianz treats it as an opportunity to mask the issues. Every year you get an AES poll… 90% of the people taking it aren’t in the contact centre and or are new for a month…. So they rate themselves well. If you speak amongst yourselves and to anyone who’s worked there more than 3 years it shows a different side, a lot of mental health issues, a lot of bullying, a lot of work till you drop mentalities.

I say this as one of the ones who’s had a decent work life with Allianz and managed to work there for over 10 years.

I enjoyed working for Allianz as I was able to learn different parts of the business for example: Mailroom, Data Entry, Call Centre. Allianz was flexible with start and finish times and I was lucky to be able to work from home once or twice a week. In my role I liaised with management on a day to day basis, which enabled me to build a good rap ore.
In my role which I did on my own, I processed and paid all South Australia hospital accounts which also meant I was liaising with the hospitals on a regular basis. 
The hardest part of my role was reconciling the accounts, the hospitals would email me there spread sheet and post the accounts and on some occasions the spread sheet wouldn't tally with the accounts sent.
I worked on my own for many years but for the last year I have trained a co-worker.
The company regarded me highly as I was asked to  process staff members claims.
Over the years I have been recognised for my work ethics which I had a commendation.

I worked at Allianz for 4 months as a Recovery Assistant. It is a hard job, they will push you to do as many calls as possible. The constant fear of going to the bathroom for too long, or ever missing a call and knowing that they listen to your calls - is very stressful.  They basically want you to be a robot. I had my boss always micromanage me it was so toxic.  People who have been there for 30 years are lazy and have favorites.  There is no incentive to work hard as the rewards are pretty lame.  They monitor everything you do, your emails, listen to your calls. If you say one thing they do not as you will be in the office. I felt like I had someone strangling me whilst working there.  If you are a creative individual or have any empathy do not work there. You have to be a tough person to put debts onto people every day. 

I currently work in the Motor claims department as part of the Total loss claims section.  This includes the handling of corporate/fleet claims, broker claims as well as direct claims. This role requires a great attention to detail as well as working under pressure due to the large volume of claims and to ensure the insured's claim is settled correctly and promptly and the relevant authorities have been advised of the write off.Over the time here i have acted as Team Leader and as a Technical lead.As a senior claims consultant i act as a reference point for staff with any claims issues they make come across.I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge and helping fellow staff.

I worked as a case manager for WorkSafe however, the amount of tasks and work you are required to do, unless you have adhd is impossible to reach. 

You are on the phone consistently, getting everyone's workers who wish to follow up - also wanting to speak to their case managers. 

Your day is: filing documents, processing medical & surgical requests, giving an opinion on the medical aspect (you're not medically trained), handling account payments (not in the job description), sending medical follow-up requests, speaking to providers, follow ups and countless email replies. You really cannot stay on top of it. 

Depending on your manager, you can be lucky or unlucky. There isn't really a community team atmosphere it's "this isn't my worker." I believe there are aspects to move up to other departments.  The amount of stress you get from this job is not worth the fornightly 2k you get. . 

The workplace culture at Allianz is good with a happy and productive team in the Customer Call Centre. 
The workload is very closely monitored so that the days pass steadily except under unexpected heavy loads.
The company includes training to Certificate III level to fulfil RG146 standards.
Management at call centre level includes Team Leaders, with a Sales or Service Manager above him, and a Call Centre Manager above them.
The team are predominantly a mix of young and old, and the culture is family orientated, with a broad and diverse cultural spectrum.
The hardest part of the job at the Allianz Call Centre is the rotating roster.
The most enjoyable part of the job are the company social events.
