Very demanding workload. Management is incredibly toxic, disgusting and abysmal. Two facilities I have worked at are almost always constantly grossly understaffed to the point where it is just straight up incredibly DANGEROUS.

I did a night shift at one facility where not only was I the only RN on duty, it was my very first shift there, as well as the only med-comp staff member... for 115 residents. No one around to orientate me apart from the carers, I had to basically figure everything out for myself. I was so stressed out, overwhelmed and going insane from the workload and terrible staffing mix that I did not even get a break.... for TEN HOURS.

When problems arise, management does not care AT ALL, they tend to stick their heads in the sand and expect us to just "deal with it" instead of doing their jobs properly and making referrals for further assessment and just wanting the $$$. 

They are often unapproachable, hide in their offices all day long and just talk mindlessly instead of taking action. They are cowardly, lazy and hate being asked for help, and will use it against any staff member who dares to raise any concerns with them. When they are "nice", it is often fake and will use it against you by going behind your back to your agency saying you are "incompetent" to avoid any responsibility or accountability for themselves.

Temporary staff members are treated like second-class citizens/worst enemies alive and not supported, trained or orientated properly to the facilities, their operation or the company software eCase - which typically take WEEKS to properly learn. But NOPE - you are expected to be ready to go and be perfect at all times so they will not need to train you. You are expected to work miracles at the drop of a hat waving a non-existent magic wand. Completely naive,  delusional and wishful thinking at best.

If you have any dignity, integrity, self-respect or value for your mental health and well-being, RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE FROM AEGIS AND NEVER LOOK BACK. When things go wrong you WILL get thrown under the bus and be used as an easy scapegoat. Staff are pretty much FORCED to get dementia residents to comply with treatment when we cannot legally do so and management refuses to make referrals for further assessment for them to go into high care instead when they are clearly no longer meeting the criteria stay in low care where residents are required to have the capacity to give consent. 

In a way, I am glad I got to experience this first hand to see it for myself,  but I am even more glad I got out of that environment. I can literally BREATHE again.

During my time at this company, I experienced several challenges that made the work environment less than ideal. The management style was highly micromanaged, leaving little to no room for professional growth or autonomy. Promises made regarding opportunities and support often went unfulfilled, creating an atmosphere of disappointment and frustration.

I frequently found myself overworked and underpaid, despite voluntarily dedicating a significant amount of my personal time to ensure tasks were completed. The lack of appreciation or recognition for these efforts was disheartening.

Unfortunately, the workplace culture was negatively impacted by certain individuals whose behaviour created a toxic environment. I would advise others to be mindful and approach interactions with caution.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most staff were lovely.  Convenient location at Burswood. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Finance/Payroll/Billing each roles is enough for 1 2/3 of a person, very stressful to get work done at daily deadlines.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
All sectors in the building keep to them selves.   You can work there for years and not know who people are.    Very quiet no one speak as it is frowned upon not verbally but by looks for sure. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Be prepared to work overtime and not get paid.  This is expected.    Everyday is stressful.   Your first greeting is 2 large out of date A4 lever arch files with procedures which you follow to the dot.

Communicate effectively, listen when a client has a concern  and also monitor client behaviour  document all behaviour, attend to 
client as per care plan
Learn new things every day, eg client behaviour and how to deal with it
To promote all services and product of the company with knowledge, integrity and enthusiasm delivering services for the company as well as time management and safety procedure
To work  well with all the other staff, always go extra mile to help out my colleagues in line with company's policies and to work as a team

Everything. The clients are lovely. The staff are a team.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Time balance and the need of more staff.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great. Everything is orderly. The staff are respectful.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Showering easy clients before breakfast. Changing bedsheets. Breakfast. More needed clients get showered after. Lunch. Whatever the clients needs.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working as a therapy assistant 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When there is no team work. But I most say it’s a good place to work

Very ok environment to work in. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy , because you have most duties for the day to work on

I have worked at 2 different facilities. 
The first one was amazing, great work ethic by all staff. management is amazing.
The current one I am working at isn't the same quiet the opposite. 
Management not so great. 
The hardest part of the job is not enough staff. 
I love caring for the residents that is the best part of the job, and seeing accomplishments.

i loved working with old people, ive got my grandma here and i've spend practically my whole life with her, she was like my mum and dad in one. And so my love for old people reflects back on my relationship with my grandma, i treat all old people the way i would want others to treat my grandma

A typical day as a career at was different each day as it was dependent on the workload someone has on that particular day. I managed to grow personally in my skills to meet the daily needs of residents. I learnt that positive teamwork and communication are fundamental as they make work enjoyable.

Loved being with and helping residents.
If management put as much effort into their actual roles instead of gossip and toxicity this would be a company to rival any other.
