Great sense of team when working 'On-Ground'

I have learnt quite a lot about the processes involved when managing vegetation around powerlines

Management does appear to be a 'footy Club' here in South Australia.

As far as the workplace culture goes "It's not what you know, it's who you know"

If you're looking to advance within the company in South Australia, you will not- unless you play for the same football team. Workplace nepotism. Which is a shame, because the skills on-ground, far outweigh the skills in South Australia's upper management (education, training, REAL knowledge vs office knowledge). Which is a loss to the progression and betterment of Active Tree Services SA division 

But the travel and people you get to meet, make it all worth it, if you can look past the exclusivity.

To begin it was good but after the first 3 years it was downhill. Huge amounts of Unpaid overtime, unrealistic expectations, no family orientation and no care for your personal safety.

Once you give an inch they will take advantage of you and push you to break. 

There was some good people but far outweighed by incompetent management and HR are by far the most foul creatures to work there.

They say a snake rotts from the head, Active Trees are the perfect example.

Worst company in the world to work for. I busted my  hump or four years only to line supervisors pockets with bonuses. Unsafe morons hired and thrown out in the field . No promotions only if you are a dobber and nuff nuff
Ripped me off 9; thousand dollars. People have died here recently and continue to. Managers are a joke.dont bother with this company.

By far the worse place I've ever worked at! Equipment never works & constantly breaking down, which causes major safety concerns, which people in management could care. Massively underpaid for how dangerous the work is!!!!

Management staff are lovely and can reel you in. On the job is busy and hefty work. Constantly moving and when in metro areas on the chipper, overtime is Constant.

Gained some good friends and good training aswell as experience but definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone ambitious. Too many walls and obstacles, usually broken or faulty equipment.

electrical linesman. A typical day will involve isolating and de energising power to network for active tree work can commence safely with understanding of the power network and the ability to receive and hand out permits to the required persons.

It was good company to work for but after 10 years I decided that I needed a change when I left it was a very sad day to this day I still contact managers and other supervisors and the door will always remain open if  I ever wanted to return.

Had good potential for career development but hard workers don’t get ahead or paid more even for having more qualifications and skills (that they expect you to use but pay you the same as others who don’t).

Great safety lead across the business. I felt I could speak up and go home safely. 

Good wages as well. worth a look if you are interested.

Due to the nature of the industry the hours can be mixed if there are storms or call outs
