ANZ Stadium

My work at ANZ Stadium is only casual. Every shift is different. We get called in whenever there is a Foot ball match, soccer, other sports or concerts. Crowd can vary from 30000 to 80000 at the whole stadium. They have lots of different food outlets on 6 levels. No matter where you work it is always busy, so you need to be fast and hygiene. 

Each day is different. Cupping hot ships, making burgers, making hot dogs are the main work. Other work can be filling up the pie racks, filling up the drinks in the fridge, cleaning constantly and filling up food at the front which is called a runner. At the end is washing everything which we all do together. I sometimes at the cash register which involves handling money when cusgtomer pays for their food and/or drink.

A lot has changed at ANZ Stadium so I hardly work now. Back in 2008 our shifts use to be at least 4 hours, but now they are mostly 3 hours. I generally get a long with everyone and it is a good break from family life, although very tiring.

a typical day would be arriving before the event to prepare the food/coffee van for service and then serving the customers on the cash register. 

i have learned that people are generally nice, helpful and genuine but working for large crowds can be difficult.   

management was good always walking around asking if anybody needs anything or if you need any help 

co-workers were generally good but some were a little annoying or unwilling to work. but they were few and far between 

the hardest part of the job was the rush when the break started at sporting events the rush was the hardest part of the shift by far 

the most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people and occasionally seeing the end of big events like the NRL grand final

a typical day at the restaurant starts with the restaurant opening at 11AM. We set up the bar, till, lights, tv's and music. Quick sweep of the floor is a must! check if phones are on and working! If no floor manager has shown up, I take the responsibility of being an all rounder (taking orders, making drinks, running food and drinks to customers, cleaning and handing the customers bill when they are finished and ready to leave. 
the most enjoyable part of the job is that there is always something to do and you can't get bored or anything. The hours are long and some days are better than others but you won't be bored.
the hardest part of the job is trying to encourage other staff to do something to help the rest of the staff members out

I'm working within an agency where ANZ contacts us asking for individuals to work shifts. The shifts are always random, you can say yes or no to them and they won't fire you. You have a different supervisor everytime and you also get moved around the stadium, depending on the qualifications you have. You also work with different people every shift. I've met some lovely people within this organisation. Its honestly the best place I've worked in. This job is highly suitable for individuals studying and wanting something very casual.

Love working here 
Normally work there three or four hours each shift
Each shift is different once I get there I would know if I am a Bar Attendant or a Cashier
when I'm a Bar Attendant I just serve drinks for the customers and a co worker would charge them
If I'm a Cashier I would normally just be charging the customer the drinks sometimes when its very very busy I would be doing both as a Cashier and serving the drinks also.
Also need to maintain the area that you work in clean and clear any spills.
Always checking Id's and always have my RSA on me.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good team work to get the things done quickly and in an efficient manner. Staff are very good and friendly. The way they communicate with very well understanding and working environment was very good.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing stressful during working hours 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Dynamic people dynamic culture. Working environment for everyone was good enough.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Day was good. Very well done everything

i am working they has catering Assistant last 3years.this is my part time job. i work here Saturday and sundays only.

I always learning new things there interacting with new people evey time. and preparing different varieties of food.

Management people are vear good people . i  have v good communication with management and with my  chef and co-workers.
very good environmental to work there.

There is no such  thing hardest part of this job everything is very fun and enjoyable place.

Great place to work for esp in footy season as you get alot of work on the weekends, you are also able to get 4 free tickets for the footy for friends & family. As there are so many different bars at anz stadium your not always working at the same bar all the time.
It can be hard when you are working on a bar & you have a supervisor who is only a bar staff as it's only on major events when all supervisors & team leaders are on & you feel there are "too many chiefs & not enough indians".
Sometimes there can be drama

Working at ANZ STADIUM is so fun and full of excitement on game days and main events. The atmosphere is great and guests are usually awesome and just wanting to have a good, relaxed time themselves.  Management are awesome and so kind, I love working here because Supervisors and duty managers really care about your wellbeing. Just love it here!

ANZ Stadium provides ample opportunity to experience the ins-and-outs of the food and beverage industry.
