What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Everything involved in AFLQ was based about participation and meeting key numbers on growth.

Every Saturday, I run Boundary for u18's, Reserve Seniors and Senior games at any AFL ground in Brisbane. I mostly picked up some efficiency skills. The hardest part of the job is the long constant running, to ensure the game keeps moving. The most enjoyable part of the job is to watch the game from the field and to meet new, interesting people each week.

A typical day at work is going out on the field for 2 hours officiating AFL. 

I have learned to communicate and learn decision making.

The hardest part of the job is having external criticism during the game that i am umpiring.

The most enjoyable part of the job is umpiring the best sport in the world and getting paid to officiate a fantastic sport that is AFL.

Pretty good way to earn money as a teenager. Keeps you fit and helps your people skills. There is a strong umpire culture but sometimes it gets a bit competitive and sometimes being a young woman it was hard to communicate how uncomfortable some instances were in training, before matches in the umpiring room, or on the field from players.

I communicated regularly with my employers who informed me of my upcoming shifts.  I had to travel, sometimes over an hour, to attend football games.  However, it was great work, enjoyed the fitness side of the job and was paid well for my skills and also travel allowance.

My time, although short, was very enjoyable at AFL Queensland. I enjoyed getting out into the field and meeting new people whilst teaching students the basics of AFL at the same time.
The management staff were fantastic and there was nothing hard about the job.

Productive and enjoyable workplace and hang out with little kids as an Auskick coach. Only did a week in work experience but I would certainly go back.

When working at AFLQ I was a program leader of school Auskick sessions, ran and umpired games and competitions, and would do school Lessons in HPE classes
