In less than 1 month on the job I have witnessed an extremely high turn over of staff, and can understand why.

The call centre is run down with 10 year old damaged keyboards, computer monitors, uncomfortable office chairs, and unreliably outdated operating systems. The building facilities are also outdated and the general atmosphere is unwelcoming. I know the names of only a handful of the 50 odd staff I work  next to for 8 hours a day, simply because there is no time to interact with anyone.

Initial training is basic, and so far there has been no further coaching or check up on how new employees are travelling. It is unclear who your supervisors are in shift, and who you can approach, or even how to contact, management with any concerns.

The phone calls are extremely repetitive and monotonous, coming through back to back with no time to take a breath or sip of water. Every 3rd call you will be dealing with drunk and/ or abusive customers. Generally the clientele who rely on taxis are unpleasant people who will berate you over the most minor inconvenience. It is a welcome relief to speak with a polite customer with manners.

Managing in this environment is challenging, to say the least. Upper management and the Executive Leadership Team lack coherence and effective decision-making. Capable employees feel hamstrung, unable to make meaningful contributions. This likely contributed to the exodus of our senior leadership team, who were disillusioned by poor decisions at the top. 

Though the company touts its technological prowess, the reality is that the IT team is outdated and unhelpful, often resorting to mansplaining and blaming others. Our current COO seems to be following in the footsteps of their predecessor, while the HR department lacks transparency and honesty.

Redundancies have plagued the contact centre, resulting in unmet targets and low employee morale. Cost-saving measures have led to disengagement among staff members. The new HR representatives are not helping the situation, particularly the local one in Oakleigh, who has proven to be untrustworthy and difficult to work with.

Don't waste your time.

An ordinary day at 13CABS is very fast pace you'll be booking hundreds of cabs before you know it. This is good it kills time fast and challenges your customer service skills and computer skills. Management is good they respond in a timely manner and co - workers are excellent they're always there to lend a hand. Probably the hardest part about this job is dealing with drunk customers late at night when their needing a cab from club, but its a bit fun in a way. I enjoy talking talking and meeting new people over the phone everyday and we also get to meed elderly people sometimes that come in for a tour. Its always good to see their happy faces.

Management does not care about the employees and fire them whenever they want. There is no fun and no activities like other call centre and cant even talk to colleagues. Taxi service is really bad and they never come on time and always customers wait for long long time even for hours. Uber is lot better and should take over 13 cabs. Even the desks and the keyboards are so dirty as we need to clean it everyday with wipes. really disgusting toilets as its dirty. Occupational health and safety needs to come and look into this as its serious and people get sick here all the time.

Management is an absolute fail. Restructure of the management team from the last 8 months has been the worst decision. The uneducated and lack of leadership is astoundingly laughable. 

I wouldn’t recommend this company, especially the Oakleigh office to a single person. It’s dehumanising, and for individuals who have absolutely no career aspirations. 

I’m embarrassed that I even worked here. The CCM, COO and HR are just completely unqualified and lack any empathy and compassion. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Enjoyed working at 13cabs, unfortunately they lost the contract, so I moved on.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress. Good company. No contract.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Good and friendly people. Helpful and knowledgeable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I had a regular school bus run Monday to Friday. No weekend work.

Management team is fantastic. 

Job itself is very monotonous and after a while of being there somewhat boring. 

Pay rate is very low and most definitely not inline with the industry average. 

Overall it's a job and in today's employment climate you really should be greatful to even have one. 

If it wasn't for the great management I would not be there.



During my time at the company, I gained valuable experience and personal growth. The company provided a great work environment and abundant resources, and the collaborative team spirit was exceptional. I truly appreciated the support from leadership and the help from my colleagues, which enabled me to grow professionally. As I move on, I will always cherish the memories and lessons learned here. I sincerely wish the company continued success and prosperity in the future!

Many issues working here as driver, management place you at risk as worker, and as passenger you're at high risk. Not enough ethical checks by authorities and no back up support for sole traders, they exploit you.

I attempted to raise concerns for months, i was blindsighted into a meeting and axed without notice, im still alerting authorities 2 years later and its amazing a company can be able to place people at risk and its acceptable.

Management always empowered drivers to be professional and keep cars in immaculate condition with washing and vacuuming facilities on site. On site parking and could arrange for free weekly parking of your private vehicle. Logging of earnings for the day was easily entered on the system and you could arrange for cash payments or bank transfer into your bank account.
