Good location but staff are just a number at Optus and management dont bother with front line staff.
Poor choices by management that has lead to redundancies over the past 5 years.

Good worklife balance with good job advancement
Fun and Productive. Good learning environment with potential job advancement possibilities. Plenty of food choices within the complex. Parking available.
Friendly Place to Work
I found the people in the marketing department at Optus fun and easy going. I enjoyed the amazing people there and the coffees around the campus. There seems to be flexible working arrangements as well.
If you want a fun, empowering work environment with great work life balance this is the place to be
Optus is has a great work culture. Poor top management though had made the place toxic for some people but most managers are great and supportive and encouraging
Sad that they offshored employees
This was a great technical support role, and now all off shored. It was a great job while it lasted. So sad. If this job came back onshore I would do it again.

In questi anni mi sono occupato di Marketing Diretto, Mobile Site marketing & ecommerce, ecommerce e digital innovation e sales capability tools.
Nell'ultima posizione di 'Digital Sale innovation manager' la mia responsabilità era quella di assistere il Dipartimento Online Sales nel raggiungimento dei target di vendita di ogni anno.
Con un team di circa 25 professionisti in vari campi (copywrite, project manager, business anaysists, User experience, Producer, IT architects, testers, developers) abbiamo portato a termine molti progetti di successo che hanno beneficiato il business con vendite incrementali e traffico sul sito di Optus.
Mi appassiona lavorare a progetti innovativi e complessi con un team di persone dinamiche e desiderose di imparare e fare bene.
La mia esperienza a Optus è stata molto positiva. Ho imparato a gestire situazioni di grande stress dovute a ristrette deadlines, a comunicare con differenti aree del business (Optus ha circa 7,000 dipendenti), a lavorare in grandi/costosi progetti ed infine essere responsabile dei risultati richiesti dal business.

Optus in its early days was a fun and challenging work environment
When I joined Optus it was still building itself into a major competitor and was in a growth phase. Lots of challenges and fun, everybody was new and there was great esprit de corps. As the Commercial Manager of Interconnect, I was encouraged to take the fight up to Telstra and to challenge their incumbency in the fixed, mobile and data markets. We wrote the rules. As the company moved to a more mature position in the market and towards listing it became more conservative and predictable. A good company nonetheless.
ProsA great place to learn about the dynamics of competition
Property Department is a revolving door
90% of staff in the Property Department are Contractors, Management Treat the Contract employees like rubbish as Management know Contractor have little rights. Most of the Staff you talk to in the Team complain about Management and the Workload and are extremely unhappy and most are looking for jobs outside Optus. Management of the Property Team appear to have phsycological issues it is clearly displayed by their erratic behavior, conflicting decision making and the continual fights and they have with their staff.

Fun place to work
Optus has a good working environment. Enjoyably part is the flexible working hours. Great people to work with and there is a lot of opportunity to grow.
