All I have to say is don't waste your time. Horrible company to work for. They will try and make you work for free, won't pay full timers any over time they do, make you work when you take holidays, there's so much back stabbing/gossiping from management, budgets and KPIs are ridiculous, don't give any extra help with VMs, training of staff and excessive work loads. You have no work life balance at all, they just expect more and more out of you without giving anything in return. The turn over of staff for Yd is insane (In 1 year the hunter area had over 40 team members come and go)...

Manger steals your sales in system and tells you that you didn’t sell enough 
No matter how much you sell they tell you that your not good enough 
One 3 hour shift per week 
They use you while they go out shopping for the day 
when there’s no customers coming in it’s your fault 
Manager blames everything on you 
They breathe down your neck the entire time your working 
Manger willing to throw you under the bus for everything that goes wrong to save them selves 
Promise you hours when you get hired only to receive 1Shift per week no matter how good your sales are

I am a casual who has been working in Newcastle stores for over 12 months.
I am excited to go to work, learn something new every shift and also work full time at another employer. 
My manager always has time for team to acknowledge their personal lives and work. The area manager goes out of her way to touch base with stores on weekends and is always available if we need anything.
The clothing is fantastic and the discount encourages me to purchase items weekly that I can use for my other job and at work.
I feel very much apart of the team here at Yd.

this company will not respect you as a worker. they will beat you down and ab*se you any chance they can get and no matter how much evidence you have, they will get away with it. there are many more people out there that have been ab*sed by this company and have been silenced and blacklisted by speaking out. i recommend applying elsewhere — know your worth, know your rights, and work at a place that respects and supports you. 

I believe yd is a good platform to teach workers how to interact with other customers and if problems arise, how to adapt to certain situations. It also encourages you to be more confident with yourself and how to treat customers with respect.

Working there was fine up until the point the manager stopped giving me shifts then gave them to workers from other stores without telling me why. This was at the Hurstville store if anyone is going to work there.

Felt a bit like a robot working here. Having to follow step by step what management want us to ask our customers felt disingenuous and annoying. Also the pressure to reach kpis and targets is so ridiculous it’s all about the sales .

In complete honesty, I have worked here for two weeks and am already hating it. They tell you it’s based on how you work and how much money you make to how many shifts you get. The management don’t respect your availability so don’t be looking here for a second job 

It could be a little stressful if you are new to the industry, especially because the store is focused on KPIs. However, working for a while (I say give it 2-3 months) you will love the place. 
-Friendly co-workers and supportive management. 
-Flexible 

Good pay regarding the work load, however they offer very minimal shifts; often 3-6 hours per week. The management lack communication with staff, often prioritising money over the employee's wellbeing.
