working for Morriscorp was an incrediby worthwhile experience which allowed me to develop my skills in management, communication and organisation. Being extremely health and safety focused, every task required risk management tools to be used while performing the job efficiently and on time in order to ensure the smooth running of operations. Much of the work required working under pressure due to strict time constraints, and this was norm throughout the 12 hour work day 7 days a week and up to 4 weeks straight. 
Monday to Friday involved ensuring all flights left on time and to procedure communicating the necessary institutions all the relevant information needed, delegating and ensuring all staff in the department completed relevant tasks and liaising with the site manager ensuring all other tasks were completed and in a safe manner. Weekends involved carrying out various projects around site for the site manager as requested by the client.

Management top heavy company with no skills whatsoever. Blind leading the blind and no people skills.
Staff weren't acknowledged or thanked and were constantly demanded to work harder and do more with less staff. Staff shortages were constant and NO solutions sought or provided. Promotion within the company was very suspect rules made up as they went along and very little encouragement given for advancements internally or educationally. Staff treated like kids with very little respect shown or given " you are paid to work not think" mentality . Ignorant and arrogant culture and environment to work in. As for staff safety ...looked good on paper just like their values and mission statement but never actually put into practice nor applied. Heat is another constant, enduring 40+ degees.

Great mates are a must in this environment to survive, sorting out the workers from the shirkers comes easy they stand out a mile and trust few. Always be aware of your rights and unto thy self be true.

Wake up - clock-in, OH&S briefing - stretches - assigned to job requirnments for the day - utilizing a time managed structure.  Team work.  10-12 hr. shifts.  Communicate with supervisors and co-workers to increase productivity.

I learned time management and hydration/safety is paramount - along with transparancy and docoumentation.  Work life balance - healthy lifestyle.

Liase with management - provide and ask for feedback.  Be efficent - note potential working hazards.  Follow policy.

Support youre co-workers - split and rotate tasks for best and safe work practice.  Communicate.

Hardest part of the job - extreme heat - which is easily managed with hydration.

Most enjoyable part of the job - Being part of the fifo community on remote sites.  Structure.  Ability to earn and save.  Team work and ability to progress to management.  Long shifts.  Ability to maintain fitness during work.  Sence of community.  Working in remote locations.

Morris has that opportunities to those who have children at home by giving supports that suites for their employees need. Only few employers I think can provide this kind of offers when a working mother like me has to go away for work.

I just hope that it will help me more if I got Fulltime Relief Pool Utility position because I was not aware Morris have like this employment type of thing that helps, support people and understand our status being away with family and friends and where options of work in the city around are not available.

HR managements are very much supportive and very helpful too just like my previous employers... only thing is need to speak out to communicate, be honest, be your self and stands on your feet of what you believe is right.

I enjoyed my employment with Morris, met some wonderful people and made good friend within Management and Staff.  A typical day on site for me was Gym at 6 am, breakfast at 7 am showered and attending Pre-start meetings at 8:30 am, I learned a lot about being FIFO worker and what and how to treat miners and also to appreciate there knowledge of years of experience. I worked well along side Management and my co worker as you all become one big family and are all there to do the best job possible.The hardest part of the job is being away from your family as you count down the days after your first week has past. The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendships you make and the bonds made.

Working for morris in the role of kitchen hand was very rewarding for me personally. The chefs, for the most part, were great people who were willing to share their knowledge, making work interesting and exciting on a daily basis.

Morris offered cert 3 courses in a variety of relevant fields, eg cert 3 commercial cookery and cert 3 business admin. All paid for and supported by the company.

Pay is salary based, so rnr pay is same as working weeks pay.
Being a large well established company there is ample opportunity for advancement and transfers to other camps and areas, as well as ongoing permanency in the work.

We work in a group of 2-3 people on a run. We collect rubbish, sweep, mop, dust; and clean kitchenettes and conference rooms. The hardest part of the job is taking out all the rubbish and the repetitive tasks. I have learnt that you have to have a very good attitude to safety at all times especially working night shift as everyone gets tired. Morris management is helpful with any safety issues we might have and are good to their working crew. The hardest part of the job is working permanent nightshift as you do not  have family life the best is we have a great team and we all get along very well

Physically demanding work at fast pace which I enjoy and work on my fitness to challenge & compete against myself to perform well. 
Hold-ups that occur pose further pressure for completion of tasks.
Shift passes quickly and is very satisfying.

Hard work but you feel appreciated in return. Defiantly a family feel when you are out there in the middle of no where. The company generally care about your well being and safety.  I learnt a lot about safety and you take this with you every where you go in life now.
 Typical day at work- early start, work hard, you get your breaks, have a lot of fun, great dinner, awesome wet mess, good camp site. Most enjoyable part was getting it done! Hardest part was being away from reality. My co-workers were some of the coolest people I've met, from all walks of life. $$$ was good stuff!
