Wet n Wild

Wet n Wild Maintenance division is filled with nothing more than old guys who are just holding their spot until retirement.

They have been there so long that have become bitter that they do nothing all day but bully younger workers who are just trying to advance in a career or just get by with their lives.

Supervisors are no better. There is hardly any work to delegate out and they find themselves acting arrogant and childish as the staff in their department.

Wet N Wild often reminded me of High School where there is constant gossip about other people with no repercussion and the fact that it comes from 50 year old men makes you feel sick. 

Fracturing between sub departments is also another issue. Grounds, Water Quality and Tech Services are always at each others throats through Rumor Spreading, Practical Jokes and infrequently dobbing good people in for minor things to get them fired. This is someone/s lively hood for gods sake. 

I also briefly worked in the cleaning department. Which is run by an out of touch old man who believes running a department in a theme park is through fear and intimidation and surrounds himself with other out of touch old men to cater to his ego.

If your looking for job cause you can't find anything else then by all means a jobs a job.

But do not let it consume you and become what you hate.

This is the most terrible organisation I have worked for in 25 years. Cleaning department-Most management are bullies and they try and break you down every shift. I would never recommend  family, friends or even your enemy to work there. The staff facilities and equipment are in terrible condition. The manager of cleaning demands his staff arrive at least 10 minutes before your shift and you have to start work before you are getting paid. They also give you your tea break at the end of your shift. Why would you want to have your break at the end of your shift? Managers also try to intimidate and are constantly aggressive. You can't bring anything up with them otherwise there will be retribution. You will end up feeling sick every shift. Recommendation: STAY AWAY and definitely don't let your kids work there. Not sure if the park CEO is aware of how his cleaning department managers are treating their staff.

My typical day was ensuring passenger safety at all times by applying principles of OH & S to ensure that customers were
not placed in situations which would be hazardous to their health/well-being.

I learnt how to quickly defuse situations with difficult customers whilst maintaining a calm, professional and courteous manner.

Management helped me in achieving my goal in providing good customer service by providing me with the training that was required.

I found my co- workers to be helpful, flexible and they had the ability to share information.

The hardest thing was when the tools I was given to do my job eg two way radio did not work.

The most enjoyable part of the job was to meet and talk to the customers from various walks of life

my day would always start out different, it was very interesting each and everyday. each day i would learn something different and use mt skills to the best of my ability to complete the day of work. it never seemed like work, it was a fun job and i enjoyed being their every second. 
the other team members were so caring and always there when you needed a helping hand, very understanding and helpful. 
there was no "hard" part in the job, everything wasnt basic but if you got the hang of things quickly nothing was impossible. 
Seeing people come into the retail stores and asking them how there day was would always put a smile on their face and that would be the best part of the job, seeing people so happy to be outside was wonderful, such a great experience.

This was my first job out of school, to be completely honest it felt like I had never left school. The atmosphere at work was just so positive and inexperienced/young that it made me feel like I was still in High School. This feeling for me was absolutely amazing, made me feel more comfortable around my co-workers and just allowed us all to get along a lot easier. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to meet new customers every single day. Being such a huge and successful organisation, it attracted many people day in day out. I really enjoyed working for Wet n Wild, the hardest part was probably having to say goodbye and moving on.

I auditioned for this gig at Wet n Wild for there Halloween Horror Nights as i thought it would be a lot of fun and i would learn different experiences. the Gig went for 5 days and ended on halloween. i learnt how to work as a team and how to scare people as a was a zombie. The rest of the cast were all lovely and i still talk to a few of the people i met. Even though i only knew them for 5 days, we all instantly connected as a family and it was really great. I would highly recommend auditioning for any gig that comes your way because it is a great experience and you have heaps of fun.

I was located in the Surf Shop which sells swimwear, beach clothing, souvenirs, merchandise and ride photographs. A typical day involves serving customers, tagging, hanging and sizing any new stock, ensuring all items are fully stocked, locating and printing ride photographs for customers, maintaining a tidy store throughout the day and closing the store at the end of the day. 

I have learnt a lot about the retail industry and furthered my experience in customer service. I thoroughly enjoy my job however I am not guaranteed hours especially in this off-peak season.

Warner Brothers conglomerate i.e, wet'n'wild,  movieworld,  seaworld and outback spectacular .was a great interchangeable employment with advancements for those with the gun-ho nature to apply themselfs towards it.It was a enjoyable environment but not the one for me as it required alot of heavy labour and direct sunlight whilst dealing with all manner of clients.all in all it was a great opportunity and I'm thankful to have worked for them

A typical day at Wet 'n' Wild is always busy, i have learned many things from Wet 'n' Wild such as to quickly spot an emergency when there are a lot off people swimming and playing. how to scan my area effectively, The hardest part off the job is staying focused when its really hot and there's no shade. The most enjoyable part off the work place is talking with fellow lifeguard, guests  and working on top off the slides

There were a lot of opportunities to talk to customers. Personally, I learned to de-escalate angry customers. I got along well with other team members and management. The hardest part of the job would be having to juggle multiple priorities in a very hot environment. Despite difficulties, my team members would help me through them.
