Working at Waitrose was great as the staff and company pride themselves on being friendly and welcoming - feels like a family! 

A typical day at work for me would usually involve being on the check out tills, or customer service desk. This therefore involved interacting with customers all day. Sometimes I would also help out in the café or on the shop floor. 


Waitrose is a partnership and therefore the culture is representative of this - everyone including part time workers are partners and therefore share in the profits. The management ensure that everyone feels included within the partnership. 

The best part of the job was the interaction with customers, and in terms of downsides the hours could be long depending on your shifts.

My role involved checking the dates on items and reducing the price if necessary. I was responsible for answering external calls from customers and gained customer service experience in a customer facing environment.
