Workskil attracted me to apply because of their values, mission and vision. Their organisational values aligned with my personal values.... well at least the round colourful ones stuck up on the walls did......... until I started working there. 
Horrible upper management that unfortunately spend more time finding ways to “personally” performance manage staff out. The framework is designed to treat their customers like products instead of people. The KPIs and expectations are disgustingly unrealistic and impossible to achieve during a pandemic. Upper Management find entertainment in interrogation. Questioning front line staff every minute of the day alongside unhealthy micro management and blanket rules. 

If you want to see your mental, physical and emotional health sky rocket, gain 20kgs and have no work/life balance, then apply. 
It’s all a numbers game, they really do not care.

Very good workplace with excellent communication, support and liaisals.
Typical day at work included one-to-one counseling, phone counseling, liaising with staff and external agencies, administration duties.
I learned effective time management skills. I was responsible for servicing the nine offices around Calder and Geelong therefore my time management skills were perfected.
The hardest part of the job was dealing with staff who had little or no knowledge of mental health and it's impacts, therefore as the only counselor employed part of my role was also to educate staff.
The best parts of my role were counseling clients, reporting to my supervisor and being encouraged by her, and working with dedicated individuals.

After gaining experience at various other corporate environments since leaving Workskil, it goes to show how toxic the head office environment there really is.

They do next to nothing to assist their employers in advancing within the organisation and management make it even more difficult simply to complete your day to day tasks - you are set up to fail from the start. 

Management always point the finger and blame resulting in repercussions killing morale... instead of turning a negative into a learning/coaching opportunity.

Their immature ways have lead to many highly skilled employees being driven away, and trending will result in the collapse of the organisation.

Every single part of your working life is tracked, recorded, saved and logged for review. Make any mistake, and you're out.

Workskil really lives out their values - it's a caring work environment. Everyone is really nice, works as a team. The open office allows you to connect with colleagues. Everyone, including the management, is very approachable and friendly. 

The work is meaningful, lots of opportunity to learn. From day one they treat you as a valued member, and expects you to perform because they trust in your ability. 

Learning curve might be steep, but if you have a learning attitude this is the place for you.

Case management of clients, under DEEWR contract, facilitating client training "Work Directions", and Community Liaison role, with negotiating job placements with the local business sector.

I learn about our comprehensive data base.

The team is focused in achieving KPI targets.

Hardest aspect is the amount of admin, but this is an important component.

Working with our clients, who many are disadvantaged, & have disabilities i.e.mental health related.

Workskil churn through employees so quickly that of all the people I spoke to whilst working there, 6 months was the longest anyone had been there. It is a truly awful environment, dealing with constant abuse and harassment on the phone from people on benefits looking for work and from employers.

A company based off helping others yet treat their workers so poorly. Managers gossip and make rude remarks. I will never go near Workskil and can see why it’s struggling as a whole. KPI measures are unrealistic and case load drowns the next worker. Letting people go and then forcing new people to fix others issues. Dodgy place to work for and would not recommend to anyone.

I found the environment at Workskil was very good to work in.
Dealing with people and there issues can be sometimes difficult but that can happen anywhere.
Local management seemed to be preoccupied to really know what was happening at the site.
All other personnel were great to work with a nd worked well as a team.

Working for this company was a highly traumatic experience! While I loved my job, the management were bullies and created the worst environment to work in. I have not been the same person since I left there. It has changed me as a person and I now find it hard to trust employers. Don’t work for them you’ll regret it. They care more about the people on benefits than they do about their own. Their values are lies

This organisation has a leadership team that is unqualified, archaic, clueless, inexperienced and immature. There is no one that is motivating, inspiring or knowledgeable. Offers no support for professional development. The culture is non-existent. It is a miracle that this organisation has lasted this long, it is big house of cards that will inevitably collapse.
