Good to expend knowledge about grain industry.

Superior and senior crews are very experienced and good in lecture and sharing knowledges, learned a lot from them and really good peoples to work with.

Unfortunately I've had bad experience for getting unfair roster and arrangements. Was assigned to work on the most busy period by just myself in the unit which doesn't really make sense to put all the workloads and stress on top of one employee (although I have the capability to overcome it). Been doing the job perfectly but still getting less hours than other new comers crews thats still not fully confidence for the role, requested to management for at lease getting a normal work hours but the arrangement only becoming worse. The management has given a very frustrated feeling of dosent matter how good I've been work I'm just a "disposable" worker comparing to others that has more chance to work on shift due to vehicle sharing, sad to say parasitic behaviour has better advantage nowdays.

Feeling frustrated everyday for working under unfair arrangements, not a workplace to gain sense of achievement.

I have been with the company for 5 years now but need a break from the long hours and lack of personal life. It's a challenging and rewarding career that I have started but I'm at a stage in my life where I need to spend some time to focus on me for a while. Hence me moving to the UK.
I am going to miss my co-workers immensely, along with the security of being with the same company for so many years.
Management was good considering the company being so large, but the supervisors were amazing and cared for workers individually. I felt I could always approach them about anything. 
I learnt a lot within this company, skills and knowledge that is definitely going to assist me in my future such as; working within a large group of people, working hard for my money, working to a deadline, that's just to name a few things.

Early start each day, to lay ground tarps and prepare new tarps for welding, Both over the existing wheat bunkers and on the ground.

The Knowledge gained from the experience, can only expand once work practices for other task or duties in other work employment opportunities.

Task set were already set end of day for the next working day by the manger/ supervisor and conveyed to all.

Co Workers being students all worked for the harvest only to co support the tuition for following year.

Their was no hard part to the any task under taken, with all material data read signed and passed back before commencing the actual job at hand. Safety is at the very highest on the Companies policy.

The most enjoyable part of the Job(s) personnaly, is expanding ones
knowledge base AND skill sets, with additional skills in use may assist with other professions later.

typically not a stressful job, systems are quite stable and not too many nasty surprises come up. learned a lot about a range of different systems and technical areas that I had previous not had any experience with. good management team with direction and approachability. great co-workers, this is what really made the place a good place to come to everyday. hardest part of the job is problem solving a complex and unexpected system outage but rarely happens. most enjoyable part of the job is getting recognised by clients and customers for your hard work and management acknowledging our efforts

I am a female working in a male dominated industry. Some days start at 6.00 am and can finish after 8.00pm, but that is not the norm. I welcome the challenge of working in an environment that is as changeable as the weather, somedays you are sent to other sites without noitce. I have found the staff to be caring and supportive at the sites I have worked at. Hardest part of the job is the unpredictablility of work after harvest, Im a casual employee so you do need to have other means of income.

Have achieved success in training /management-mentoring and motivating staff to excel in administratvie office support skills.

Impletmentation of change of process and co-ordination with IT was a difficult but rewarding experience
Being part of a skilled/efficient team where friendship/teamwork is of optimum importance was very enjoyable.

A very hands on active job, covering and securing the produce (grain) keeping up to date to make sure we don't lose any of the product due to weather or animals and keeping everything clean due to health and safety. Depending on the season up to 8 to 10 hour shift, consisting of 6 days a week, but in saying that a very enjoyable working environment with great supervisor's and management. Learnt to work in a fast past environment developing my manual/labour skills, building my team leadership skills and becoming more confident to sharing my input and ideas with the working crew.

My experience with viterra was excellent. I met some incredible people and made a lot of good friend's. The company itself is very proactive and very proud of their safety standards which I like. A company who's main concern is truly the safety of every employee everyday. I learned so much through the companies training programs and also gained licences I did not have before my employment at viterra. Overall I thought it was an enjoyable and fair experience with pretty good wages.

The company is good if you can actually manage to get a permanent position to begin with. They tend to overlook their long-term casuals for majority of the permanent positions that arise (if they even get advertised to begin with) in favor of external applicants who often have little to no industry experience. If you get employed as a casual, be financially prepared for periods of little to no work depending on which site or region you're in.

filling stock serving customers and customer quiries, i enjoyed the interaction with customers i enjoyed my role. i learnt to be a lot more confident around people and my communication skills have improved. management could do with some work, manager needs to improve on his people skills can be a bit abrupt and nasty. there was nothing hard about woking in kmart, the best part was creating new friends.
