A typical day at work can be quite slow but I can always find something to do cause the more you do the faster the time goes. I have learnt a lot from the cinema. They have taught me how to address customers in a polite and professional way, steps and tips on how to deal with a customer who has a complaint or is upset with the service they had received. I have learnt everything about the products we sell and the best way to help customer get more for their money. My co-workers are helpful and great to work with. 
Hardest part of my job is dealing with unreasonable people who just do not want to listen to anything you say. 
Most enjoyable part of my job is most definitely my co-workers and im confident in my workplace. 

I loved my time at Village Eastlands! I can’t express enough how awesome my team was, and how much I miss them. Everyone becomes your friend, making shifts fly by!

Shifts are very inconsistent, not a job that you’d want if it’s your sole income. But while studying, I found it as a flexible way to work, as you can work nights and weekends, as well as any weekdays you’re available. School holidays can be tricky, especially if your breaks don’t line up with the Tasmanian holidays, but the rostering manager always tries their best to make it work! 

Overall, a great place to work! 

Always made enjoyable because of my co-workers. In a typical day I will be involved with interacting with patrons, cleaning and serving food and beverage. I have learnt many professional skills including: training new staff, performing stock take fortnightly and dealing with customer complaints. The hardest part of this job would be when we are understaffed during a very busy time and the most enjoyable time would be getting to know fellow co-workers as well as chatting to patrons about films, as it is something I am very enthusiastic about.

It's an amazing job as the work environment is positive, the team is super friendly and the job is really fun once you know what you're doing and are confident in your skills. 
The only bad thing about it is that it's super quiet during school periods so shifts get cut (around 2 a week) and during school holidays its very busy (work at least 4 shifts a week if fully available). 
Other than that, management is amazing, it's a really flexible job for those studying, has good benefits with a good pay too.

Must love and have a passion for Customer Service
At times a thick skin is needed to deal with customers too

Plenty of hours to go around during the christmas period, routine work as you work around the run sheet, plenty of varying jobs as you can work in ticket box or on the floor, in candy bar or in gold class. Lots of opportunities to do odd jobs like functions, stocktake and setting up displays. 

Easy to find hours around your own schedule if you're studying or have other commitments.

Village Cinemas cares more about profit than it does their staff and customers. Staff are left with no support to run a shift which greatly impacts the quality of service that customers receive. When customers complain it falls back on to the staff who are blamed for the negative or poor service when they were just working with what they were given.

as a film lover working at the village cinemnas allowed me to mix my passion with my career but I wouldnt recomend working at village cinemas to any of my friends. i found i made great friendships at village but wasnt rewarded for the hard work you put in and the management has alot of room for improvement.

Great company to work for and great punch of people always have fun on shift weather its working in the candy bar selling food or up stairs  ripping tickets for the customers going in to watch a movie
