I found the Wesley Hospital to be very helpful and understanding and very professional for both myself and my Wife's needs over the 
12 Year battle my wife had with Cancer.
The support we received was outstanding from all the various
" Staff and Doctors and Wesley Choices - Cancer support ",and was of a very caring and supportive nature all the way thru to the end of life for my wife Maryanne.
In regards to my volunteer work in the cottage at the Wesley Hospital.
I enjoy the various duties i for fill and all the lovely people and staff and management that work within the Volunteer Cottage.
I "  Enjoy " giving something back to the Wesley Hospital for all the help and support they provided us during our time of need.
The culture within the Wesley Hospital i found is to treat everyone as equal,no matter of their Race,Colour,Religion,Sex,and to treat all information we see as Confidential.

The Wesley Hospital provided a great foundational education for me as a new graduate registered nurse.
The day was composed of setting up the theatre, gathering instruments and equipment, discussing the day with the surgical and anaesthetic team, performing the operations, lunch, providing the afternoon staff with tea relief, setting up for the following days list.
Management and culture of the Wesley were generally quite good and upbeat. They performed rounds to the theatre to ensure everyone was getting breaks and had the support they required. They were available to the floor staff when issues occurred.
Long hours, occasionally without breaks.
The whole team is fantastic to work with and incredibly supportive. It really is one big family.

A typical day currently is a typical night as I work 10pm to 6am.  The shift entails loads of customer service as you are admitting and discharging along with accounts.  Loads of confidential filing and preparing charts for use throughout the day/week.

I have learned more about how a hospital runs, SAP accounting database, use of SecurePay online payments.

Management is there to manage and the co workers are great team players.

The hardest part is getting the sleep in for the unusual time of shift and meeting deadlines religiously.

The most enjoyable part of the job is getting everything squared away and the people I work with.

No career advancement as the place is full of dinosaurs. Don’t get sick or grieve for too long if a family member passes away, you’ll get no support except to be offered the EAP and then be coerced into reducing hours or going back to casual employment.   Workloads are dangerous, no ratios of nurse to patients like public hospitals. Equipment is old and broken. People keep working there because the parking is free.

I really enjoyed my time at The Wesley Hospital, it was a pleasant work environment. Most wards offer self rostering so your life doesn't revolve around work. It pays to work the less desirable shifts i.e. weekends, night duty, and with 5 weeks of annual leave a year you never feel too stressed.

I spend most of my time in day surgery doing work between providing refreshments for post-op patients. The staff are appreciative and helpful. The hardest part of the job is boredom while the best part is knowing you're being helpful. I have learned a lot about customer service as well as new skills. For example, I'm more confident and can communicate with members of the public more easily.

Mostly ok work culture. Most people are hard and genuine working staff. Definitely not a place for slackers. Machine like efficiently run workplace. This is how it has to be. As I said no room for slackers. Pay rates are not where they should be. Underpaid workers in all sections of the system. This needs to be addressed. 

Supportive staff and management. I really enjoyed my time working for Uniting Care. I gave me great foundations of nursing care and helped me transition to being a registered nurse. I still know people who work here and enjoy it. 

UnitingCare Health have just completed Australia's first HIMSS Level 6 Digital Hospital located at Hervey Bay.  Worked alongside a great team of clinical professionals and senior management that provided their fill support to build the new facility.
