as direct support professional i would work with clients to restore social functioning.
would take clients to there Dr appointment.
i would write reports if any incidents have occurred.
give choice to the clients to what they want to for the day.

culture at Unisson is very dry.
to many people are linked together and know each other on a personal level. for e.g. mum and daugther working in the same department
Management are unqualified, but are good people, only some that work hard.

This company is all about making money. They do care for the clients, but staff are expendable and if you don't agree with suspect decisions, they find a way to legally get rid of you. Co-workers, some are supportive, some are lazy and manipulative, they only want to do easier tasks when supporting clients. Management don't take the time to actively resolve staff issues

Working and Unisson can sometimes be amazing but can also be a real struggle. There isn't much support for the workers and not much communication throughout the organisation. Pay is often messed up and management only seem to realise that there is an issue when something goes horribly wrong. 

On the other hand Unisson can sometimes be a relaxed environment and depending on who you are partnered with for the day can really make all the difference. I would recommend unison as a part time job while you study.

Not a good company to work for 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Company people in the office did not work in with the people working with clients and putting wrong clients in homes that weren't set up for their special  needs

Most of the people working with the clients where good some where there to get what they could get out of the clients

Seeing how happy the clients we support are.

Ensuring clients well-being even on bad days

Friendly and welcoming as even management show care in very difficult times 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Gaming and going to the gym and also enjoying family time

UniSSon Management respects the work their staff do and it shows in their communication with staff. They recognise hard work by strongly encouraging Support Staff to apply for leadership roles they are confident they will excel in. I have been with the Company over 10 years and never found the same inclusive and person centred acceptance by Management with any other Company as i have with UniSSon.

There is a positive mood.
They understand their clients and have a great community access program. Their transport vans are either good or bad. Sadly —
I could not get any job progression, they only promoted younger staff in the. 20 to 30’s with University Degrees. Not those like me, in their 40’s with loads of experience 

Started out a great company, then management changed.
No communication between the roster team, meaning you get asked from three different people for the same shift, I constantly received msg and calls early mornings even when I had a nightshift the previous night.
There is always restructuring and shifts and hours being cut.
Pay is often incorrect and needs to be back payed.


I worked for Unisson disability for 2 years and it was well and truly a awful experience. Once you are on the managements bad side they will do everything in Thier power to get rid of you. Nothing but a money hungry company and do not care about the people they support. Please avoid 

None of the management cares for the clients or support staff. Some staff behave unprofessionally and management do nothing to protect the clients and other staff members affected. All about profit and nothing else. Would not recommend working here if you have other options, maybe as a last resort.
