I really enjoyed working at Totally Workwear, it wasn't hard work and I had a lot of down time but when it came time do fulfil my duties, it was easy to be on the ball because of the helpful and collaborative environment created by my co-workers and management. Seeing as the store sells to people in the labour force, customers usually have a very set idea about what they are looking for, so the process of assisting is a breeze, as long as you have the stock they are looking for or can help them locate said stock in other stores. 

The only real downside was that the owners personal lives directly affected my work life. The store was owned by a married couple and their personal problems and marital financial struggles directly impacted how many shift I was getting. There was no money being put into the store, meaning I would only get one three-hour shift per week and when I was there, there was hardly any stock to sell to the customers because they couldn't afford to bring any in. This was incredibly frustrating and disheartening, especially because I enjoyed my work and the people I worked with immensely but rarely had the opportunity to do it well.

The store eventually closed down and to my knowledge, the couple who owned it never re-opened the store. That is the danger of working in a franchised business owned by an individual, is the business is only as strong as their personal management. If you're lucky enough to meet the owners of the Totally Workwear you apply for and have confidence in them, I say go for it. But be warned.

when I first arrive in to work I speak to the store manager about any new info I am required to know. I then speak to the sales team if they have any new information for me. I then go to my desk and check emails and highlight what is urgent and not so urgent. I  focus on maintaining the shop and tidy up the floor. I assist customers that walk in.
I focus on emailing the urgent clients straight away and process their orders and forward an order confirmation. I then collect imagers from our brands that we supply including write up styling tips to promote in Pak-mag and online Getaway media. I also arrange appointments and call out service in styling to Corporate companies both in medical hospitality and government agency.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of mistakes made by the staff at this company, and I, as the external rep, copped it on a daily basis.  The staff who made the mistakes couldn't care less, and often the mistakes were made over and over again to the same customer.  The manager would just always reply "re-order it" and I found this very frustrating.  I have never worked anywhere before where moderation in work practice was not only tolerated, but seemingly accepted.  There were about 5 other (all female staff) and there was a certain amount of bitchiness from about three of them to the rest of the staff.  The pay was the worst I had ever received, and they seemed to think having a car was worth a huge amount to me, when in reality I drove it for them all week.

The building of customer relations with mining companies, been confident with handling queries with the products they where wanting..

The hardest part of my Store Managers position, when the companies where on credit hold... Not fruitful for either party..

The most enjoyable times.. When extemely large orders came through... All the team pitching in and making the seemingly unobtainable mountain, whittled down to a mole hill... Team efforts are most enjoyable and most rewarding

The bosses were unprofessional and unapproachable which made communication quite difficult and there was always conflict between coworkers. The procedures in which tasks were completed were unnecessarily hard and stressful, making it hard to talk to businesses about their orders.
The work environment was often unpleasant because there was no encouragement from the bosses or coworkers. Some employees were friendly and fun to work with but my experience at TWW wasn't overly positive.
The correct lunch and meal breaks were not provided to employees either.

If a order came back to the shop wrong

Fun to pack and make orders for embroidery and printing and efficient with all aspects of the work place

Restocking racks and shelves and putting through embroidery and printing orders to make uniforms for tradies

When I first started I had not worked in Retail before and did not know much about the products.  I learnt so much about how the buisness works and the computer systems, that i found there were retail roles I was interested in and back of house things.  My boss encouraged me to study and now I work in Brisbane at a large international company. I got the job because of what I learnt at Totally Workwear Ballina.

Do not work for this company. Without fail the worst people I have worked for. Hired originally as a sales assistant and quickly became a team leader with no pay change!! The owners are self absorbed privileged idiots and have no intention of helping their staff. The stress this job puts on you is not worth $23 an hour. You will have a lot on your plate every single day with no help from anyone except from staff at other stores.

Fast paced, exciting, very customer focused, customers first and always,
fluent enjoyable but challenging caring team of staff. result focused, and result sharing amongst the entire store. Daily growth by new customers, referrals. repeat customers and excellent customer interaction.
