The job is great, surgeons, anaesthetists are great, management is rude, incompetent and poor, the general feeling of the whole unit is of despair.
working as a valued member of a team give a real sense of value, it is rewarding to help people , sadly management show a level of ignorance in regard to our value and ability that moral is at its lowest I have ever witnessed in 18 years.
The hardest part of the job is the disappointment of feeling  undervalued and really having no opportunity to better yourself.

The sad truth is we are all tarred with the same brush regardless of skill, ability or willingness to work regular 12 to 18  hour shifts to keep the unit running and shifts filled

Love the job , just feel the need for change and a  new beginning..

In a 8hrs/day shift it is normal to be always busy with all the required procedures. I all my twenty plus years of working as a Nurse only in this Hospital I have learned to deal with the machine operated medication or drug storage (Pyxess)  .
The manager is always pressured with staffing issue. Budget ting is the main reason why they cannot allocate a proper number of RN's.
Hardest part of the job is to compensate with the lack of personnel to address the clients needs.
I enjoy working with multi cultural staff members. They are very supportive and very professional.

My previous job was a wonderful work place where I enjoyed working within a team, always communicating and showing respect.  I was able to participate in a working environment that enabled me to manage my workload appropriately while showing support to clients and staff.  I was able to exercise sound judgement and discretion at all time.

I had been with the hospital for 25 years.
Worked in theatre for the last 15 years. The department has an incredibly toxic culture, which includes all levels of staff, including Management. One CN Facilitator said it was her job to bully staff and students. There were many examples of direct ongoing criticisms, heinous gossiping, game playing, power plays, and favouritism. The hospital is a great place with the unique diverse services it provides, however, the culture of the place needs to change.

my time at townsville hospital was enjoyable through the fast pace we needed to work together as a team. the sights seen could be horrendance but manage had the necessary protocols in place,i learnt so much about team work and whs.and the most enjoyable part of the day was always starting my shift.i learnt patience and the ability to work under pressure.

During my time in Townsville, I have worked at the TTH Acute mental Health Unit, Secure unit and the ED mental health team.
I enjoyed working in the emergency dept.  I worked in a supportive team and liked the fast pace of the job.
Hardest part was the pressure from ED dept to assess and discharge mental health patients ASAP.

Completion of the first year of practice program and an additional year at TTH with rotations between maternity, birth suite, special care nursery, antenatal clinics and the midwifery care program. During this time I continued consolidating and developing my skills in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care of women and their families in a high risk setting.

Always on the go and is enjoyable place to work.
Assisting Nurses with patients and handling the combative patient
Management is good to seek help and support although when issues arise that needs attention, management seems to push these aside in favour of permanent staff.
Enjoyable part of the job - is when you can walk away leaving a positive reaction on the patient

Family orientated culture of caring, respect, collaboration
Most enjoyable- developing scientists and sharing my expertise in morphology and teaching and training morphology

Would love to work on Ward 5 again as the staff there are 2nd to none.
Enjoyed the way the staff in the section were happy to impart with information for a better understanding of the requirements for the position.
