What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When I'm in fitting rooms and it's a really busy day customers can see that it's just me in there and the rails are chockers and the rude customers eyeroll and trash the rooms too just to add to your already overrun self

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is constantly changing, there is me and a few others that or original employees that set the store up, no growth unless your able to be paid peanuts because your that young your still in high school, no shifts, but always understaffed 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come into work I'm usually either fitting rooms or registers, then make sure I get a radio and ear piece and head to the area I'm assigned and make sure it's clean and just keep greeting and serving the customers til the end of shift if you work 4-5 yours you get 1×10 break

Negatives
- I remember in the orientation they harped on about being environmentally friendly, so much plastic waste and did not dispose of it properly
- Everyone who wasn't a casual had their own group I guess and weren't very welcoming
- There was one occasion where the store manager left early and we had just received multiple pallets of clothing and everyone was so flustered that the assistant manager in charge at the time didn't know what to do and even asked me what to do (my first week)
-  Even though as a casual you can refuse shifts evidently you can't because I refused one shift and after the manager chewing me out I was never given another shift and then they silently removed me from the group chat with no notice or anything.
- Also the music in store is horrible be prepared to listen to the same 3 christmas songs on loop your entire shift anywhere in the store

Positive
- It was fun talking with the other casuals while you stand in the back tagging clothes for hours but they'd get mad when you do 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Tk maxx is one of the best companies I have ever worked for. The bosses are fantastic, kind, caring people. The company sends us emails for mental health and offers support if we need it they care about our well being which I have never had before. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Christmas is pretty full on but that's about it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone is great to work with ,there is different nationally as well and we all just get along .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I am mainly on registers so a typical day day for me is 
First before shop opens is count the trolley's and baskets
Check security gates make sure there working 
Checking handbag buzzer making sure in comes through ear piece 
Filling up bags,paper rolls,paper for wrapping 
Dusting and sanitising benchers and registers 
During shift if quite do tidy up queue line and shoes take returns back.

I was hired as a Christmas Casual (October 2020 -January 2021) and enjoyed my time working for the company, I learnt a lot and got along well with everyone I worked with. I liked that shifts were usually a minimum 5 hours and a maximum of 9 hours, managers were very generous with giving hours and accommodating to any requests. Managers were really appreciative of the hard work employees did and I was often thanked especially when doing a good job at cleaning. As a Christmas gift each employee received a $50 TK Maxx voucher and a TK Maxx drink bottle. The only con for me was that even though the roster was published far in advance, you would have to check each day as your hours may have changed without much notice. Unfortunately I was not kept on after the contract finished but there is a good chance they will keep you on. I had an interview with 3 different TK Maxx stores so I recommend applying for more than one. 

I was able to relate to some fellow workers who had empathy and generally were very kind. Tasks were pretty self explanatory and not too difficult but areas such as the cash register did involve training you through 'shadowing,' rather you were just told how to use it and had to learn through trial and error which can cause customer frustration, especially during busy periods. Overall, this was the hardest part of the job. On the other hand, the most enjoyable part of the job was learning from other workers who had been in that company for longer and were understanding of your competency to do tasks. Lastly, if you don't make a shift don't expect to be rostered the following week/s as it is expected you are available at anytime with little personal commitments. 

The hornsby store was new so I had expectations that there will opportunities to work and learn. Before opening the store, they gave me lot of shifts just to set up the store. It was really tough physical work,realized it wasn't worth when they started to give just one shift per week! The store manager seemed very nice at first but once you are late one day or you ask about your incorrect payment,their face will be revealed. You will face no shift, boring tasks, bias, no training and obviously harassment for simple mistakes. I would definately not recommend them for job! I have wasted my time on this job. I better applied to other companies where I have worked previously and know the culture.

Most of the co workers were nice and easy to get along with

The Managers - they were unreasonable, not respectful of you or customers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful, no equality, could get in trouble at any point (felt like you had to walk on eggshells all the time). And communication was terrible.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I’d be put on registers every time, even though we’re supposed to do a mixture of things. Id not be let know about any new company policies or procedures if one’s were brought in. And easily get in trouble for things just for the sake of them proving their authority over me. Which happened to not just me but other co workers too. They singled out the ones easiest to be made victims.

I have learned to: 
- Deliver excellent customer service in high volume retail environment
- Stock management, merchandising and visual display
- Process the security procedures for minimising shop-lifts
- Maintain the sales floor for a safe and pleasant shopping experience
- Operate the point of sale system
- Process sales, returns and refunds
- Promote sale of gift cards and enhance in-store donations for charity
- Cooperatively work in a team environment
- Work independently with little or no supervision

I haven't yet encountered a complicated scenario to describe as the hardest part of my job. Patience and thoughtful actions help me undertake correct actions.
I enjoy my career path in Retail and assure that I can live up to your expectations.

The team members are mostly great, however, store management creates extremely toxic and unhappy environment for all team members and general managers. The company preaches great things about culture and community awareness but I am yet to see anything in motion. Store managers and their management are close knit and unapproachable. HR number is not assessable unless you ask for it so if you have an issue it feels close to impossible to approach anyone to resolve the issue. If you’re considering working for this company be prepared to live and breathe it as any less is unacceptable. Make sure you know all of your employee rights ad often they are looked over by store management 

Received practically no training, had to learn everything on the go myself - or ask for help from more experienced workers. 

The male manager who was present for most of my shifts played favourites and made new employees deeply uncomfortable, but the female managers were far easier to work with.

Pay was solid for casual work and co-workers were friendly enough, but clearly had 'cliques'.

As a sales associate you WILL be expected to 'volunteer' to help out everywhere that is needed. Eg: Working the floor, laying out and tagging clothing items, sorting deliveries at the loading dock, and working the registers. Do not expect to find something you enjoy doing and be able to stick to it. You must be flexible and able to stay on your feet all day.
