typical day at work would usually start by clocking in, my manager or team leader would allocate me a section within my department and for the rest of the day I would make sure it was at its best whilst providing a friendly service to customers. 

I learnt a lot of team work skills, at Tesco it would get extremely busy so we would have to cooperate as a team in order to keep our department clean.

management was okay, a little poor in areas. a lot of the time I would come in and managers weren't there or were on other departments.

workplace culture was good, being the only super store in my town a lot of college leavers were there so I had plenty of people I could relate to, customers for the majority of the time were also great. 

hardest part of the job was the late night unloading of the lorries, 74 heavy cages thirty minutes before you were due to leave was never fun, but I always made sure I got it done, even if I did have to stay an extra 10 minutes or so. 

most enjoyable part of the job was just generally working with a lot of great people. I had a great relationship with the majority of the people who worked there from young to old.

This was a temporary contract. Training was provided prior to the opening of the new store and I was tasked with stock control and replenishment within the fresh produce department. 
The job required one to work as part of the team to achieve the objectives of the company, which was to ensure the quality and availability of all produce to the public.
One dealt and interacted with customers on a daily basis, continuously striving to create a happy environment and shopping experience for them.  
Management gathered each morning with department supervisors to set out the tasks for the day and were generally quite approachable. All managers and staff worked together to make sure the store ran as smoothly as possible.

my store manger and shift leaders did so many things against  policy, it was shocking. no uniform until 4 weeks- first pay was wrong. no proper training. my manager was a bully truly a disgusting human being. also the shift leaders covered each other when they decided so make something up about a staff member. all corrupt. terrible place to work . they like to make up allegations that are not true.

I worked here part-time while at uni. Plenty of hours available however only on 7 hour contract. Pay isn't too bad. Role of online picker not a very sociable however didn't mind that when work started at 5am. Would recommend for someone looking for a part-time job while studying.

I would help set up the tables, and the bar area, help the waiters and waitresses with there starters, and get ready for service, take the orders for the bar, run some food, and make the desired coffee for the waiter/waitress, help out as much as I could take the bills to certain sections and clean down at the end of the night.

During the 2017 Christmas period I worked at Tesco Extra where I was responsible for stocking the aisles, assisting customers, collecting general merchandise from the stock room, printing price tags and checking stock levels. Working at Tesco developed my teamwork, communication, and customer service skills as a result.

Lots to learn, good training programme. teamwork. good management team, learned about customer service levels and expectations of the customer. learned a lot about presentation of packaging, despatch and incoming stock control.

A typical day at work would consist of either working within a team and on my own.
I learned how to check lotto tickets.
Management were friendly and honest.
There wasn't a hard part of my job.
the most enjoyable part of my job was seeing happy customers.

I would recommend working here as the hours are available if you need more during the week and at weekends. Very flexible and fair workplace, staff and managers very welcoming and couldn't help you enough.
