Not a bad place to work if you can handle the stress but it’s not worth it in the end. It’s easy to climb up the ladder here because it literally only takes 5 seconds of doing your job correctly to be recognised. This is bc a lot of the team leaders are incompetent and anyone above the team leader roles act like nobody else exists besides them. Super stressful depending on what department you work in. Instructions are never clear and always change. The people amongst you are nice but there’s always drama because most people that work there are middle aged men and women going through a personality crisis, and young adults who operate on chaos. Some of the people in higher roles are nice. HR works quickly. The place definitely has morals when it comes to taking care of their staff. But customers aren’t cared for. Every time I didnt know how to solve something, my TL told me to just say it’s out of my scope and transfer the call somewhere. As for staff care, I started when I was 17 and had a man pushing 30 in my training group trying to buy me a drink after work. Ended up bringing me flowers and asking me to go back to his apartment with him. Dude was fired as soon as I took it up to my team leader which was appreciated. My team leaders were great but not great enough to keep turning up to work. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The team. Depending on the team leader there can be a good coordination and  camaraderie among team members. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant policing. It is like a glorified prison where some team leaders only sit to ensure not a minute is unproductive. You feel like a caged chicken only expected to lay eggs.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They try to make it fun and playful but the underlining stress of policing and punishing supersedes everything. They talk big about customer satisfaction and employee enrichment but that's just a whole lot of rubbish. They practice just the opposite. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come early to set up your workstation, sit and deliver sales in most inbound call if not all, take breaks when scheduled by AI, work late till you complete the last call. Pays will be cut if you are late and not on active calls and no overtime regardless of when you start and when you finish.

I work in the Brisbane office in sales  and it’s an absolute joke they expect you to work yourself to the point of burnout, they haggle with you to come in when your calling in sick, the turn around is so high because of how toxic the workplace is so in return they have incompetent people promoted to managers cause they don’t have enough staff and they pay just above minimum wage then claim you can get big money with incentives which they pocket anyways and you never see it. The managers are micro managers that don’t know how to motivate their team or to the other extreme they barely manage their teams and then have incompetent agents tsa is part of the reason telstra is getting a bad rap with their pushy sales tactics that goes against consumer policy 

Started off as NBN sales (inbound) then towards the last couple months of my stay, they had randomly transitioned my team to work with hijack call traffic. Quick training which wasn’t beneficial at all. You had to work harder for sales and most calls were angry customer’s with bill enquiries and you’d be made to feel not so good about yourself for not being able to turn it into a sales call. Managers can have an obnoxious attitude at times. Seem to have a high turnover rate. Pay was decent. Was hard to make commission on top though. (Extra benefits)

What is the best part of working at the company?
No part is good the training is too short and they barley teach you the system and they just throw you in and expect you to know what you doing !!

Everything !! Not help and they demand too much from someone who just started working there

Rubbish! Theirs so much to learn in such short of period of time

Stressed and panicked… people getting annoyed for asking help too often

Although I was hired for this jobs at a good time, and met quite a few people who were fun to hang out with, it is not somewhere I would ever go back to.

The pressure placed on us to sell and work and work and work with the threat of potentially losing your job if you didn't was the cause of a lot of stress for me.

In regards to the culture, I was reminded somewhat of a high school. There was constant gossip, flirting and general immaturity.

I will say however that the manager of my section was always very kind and supportive, as well as very understanding.

The job in itself is fine, in fact, if it weren’t for the management styles of the TL & upper management I would happily stay in the position. However, it’s as though they do not really care about the customer, only about what you try and sell them. They are very contradicting in the sense that when you are trained for the job they stress that it is not essentially a sales role, however this is the main focus of almost every team in the office. Sales is their main aspect.

Not great. Call centres from TSA can be used as an entry level job for intial experience. The managers you get does play a signficiant role in your morale and willingness for input. However, if you are a recently graduated high school or university student, I recommend working there for experience and looking to ways to manage finance/expenses with low income, developing a thick skin by dealing with numerous irate customers without taking it personally on a daily basis, and being able to handle different team leaders. Do not stay for more than 1.5 years or 2 years in this role please!

Every day is different as ever customer needs are different

I thoroughly enjoyed working at TSA mostly for the social aspect. I made wonderful friends. I did enjoy going in on a daily basis. However the biggest downfall for TSA is the salary. It is hard to make a living and expected to work the hours that are done on such a poorly considered salary, hence why I willfully resigned.
