This place is absolutely horrible , such toxic environment to work in. Here I was an inspired motivated 1st year hair apprentice wanting to start my career thinking that this place would be the best way to start. The senior hair stylists treat their 1st year apprentices horribly by belittling them infront of customers and behind doors. With my experience an experienced hair dresser blew the hair dryer to my face infront of a customer thinking it was funny as I was cleaning the floor. The customer was uncomfortable and worried. The hair dresser just laughed and moved on. With the unorganised environment , it was hard to learn when an awful hair dresser is laughing at you making you feel dumb. The hair dressers treated most customers horribly and I had to apologise to them when I was attending to them. To sum it up , the people that work there are just a bunch of big egos thinking they are better and  above anyone. If you’re thinking of working at Toni&Guy Lane Cove , don’t. Look somewhere else please. 

working at TONI&GUY Islington for 6 years i built a very strong relationship with all the staff, making sure we always helped each over out as we worked in a saloon of 30 staff it could easily get booked up and needed everyone to work together to help our days run as smoothly as possible.

It was a job for a passionate heart, being on your feet all day dealing with a whole range of clients of all ages you need to be able to communicate and care for all your clients needs.

A typical day at work was ok, the staff was very lovely. sometimes I did tend to feel like I was doing all the work, for example, I was the one having to clean up everybody else's problem. The most enjoyable part was definitely meeting loads of new people and there was a very good atmosphere in the salon. In the salon I learned to always make sure that I'm not scared to say my opinion, I could definitely be very open whilst I was there. However, Management could have been a lot better.

Doing my apprenticeship at T&G was great in that it offered a high level of uducation when first starting out. This helped me build a very strong knowledge of not only the basics of hairdressing but also fashion techniques and how to keep up and source new fashion. It has held me in good stead with my career and drove a deep appreciation for education and dedication.

Duties include:
Customer Service – Greeting customers on entry, providing customers with beverages including tea, coffee, water, and juice was paramount.
Salon Assistant – Cleaning, preparing beverages for customers and staff.
Stock Replenishment – Checking stock quantities and facing of products.

Being part of a big team was great, the training is incredible. Wasn’t a fan of how a lot of salons wanted you to do both cut and colour. I think specialising in one for most people is key!
The late night finished because of working in the city was my only con.

hours can be very long.  in first, out last. lots of cleaning and picking up after hairdressers. I was underpaid and not paid for overtime. I was not given breaks.
I enjoyed the staff and learnt a lot but the boss was very unfair to work with.

Have to have an extreme passion for hairdresser to work here. Incredibly stressful environment where a lot is expected of the apprentices, understaffed, not allowed to make any mistakes, miss out of weekends due to mandatory unpaid work events and training. Not ideal, extremely hard.

A typical day at Toni & Guy would consist of communicating with clients, washing hair, cleaning, and keeping on top of products needed by the stylists. I gained customer service and sales experience by doing this job however this place pays a lowest they're legally allowed to pay.

Good for anyone looking too work in the hair dressing industry and wants too be professionally trained by toni and guy.

In a day you will do anything from simple cut and colour too half day styles
