Sunnymeade Management is professional about understanding what the resident wants.
Sunnymeade Workplace culture I found it to be great. But like all places that employ over 150 people there are always going to be some who just whinge for no reason. Staff to resident ratio is well above the industry recommended ratio. Only staff issues were with staff calling in sickies at the last minute. But management were always able to fill any empty shifts.
The hardest part of the job, was when a resident passes away. But that's life, its comforting to know that they lived in a comfortable home like Sunnymeade and were cared and loved by us amazing staff.
The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing Sunnymeade Management have faith in my ability to be able to do my job and please the clients requests.
I have worked for Sunnymeade for 6+ years & they have a great work culture, ethic and care about their employees.
The owners/directors have an open door policy which makes communicating any issues quick and easy.
Sunnymeade seems to be always looking for new, safer and smarter ways to do the work & improve the work place for its employees and offers  free education programs for those who wish to advance their career.
Still to date the best company I have worked for. 
Sunnymeade management care about your personal wellbeing and have a genuine interest in its people and most of all the residents they care for.  Great place to work I hope to retire here.


98% of co-workers are very friendly, helpful and team players. However, there is a problem with the 2% that are known to be overly bossy and have unethical practices in dealing with co-workers. 
The work is very hard most of the time. Some persons do love this as it passes the time more rapidly. Others can few this as over-worked  at times, so it does depend on your attitude. It does pose a problem when dealing with an emergency or if something goes wrong that will take up a lot of your time. There is that option to call for help if there is full staff on that day.
As a new member of staff, there is a lot of support with any questions you need answers to and the management appears to have an open door policy.
Working roster is on the basis of availability, so you can either accept or refuse any shift before it is allotted. There is also that option that you can mark permanently those days that you cannot work. 
The enjoyable part of this job is the residence appreciation and their sense of humour and little traits that make you smile.

I love working for Sunnymeade I did my placement here. Liked it so much that i asked about a job and was employed after I graduated.
I love the variety in the clinical work with the elderly, the fact that everyone has the  opportunity to advance professionally  within Sunnymeade is great, along with the professional development education which is either free or supported by Sunnymeade. 
The work life balance is fair and the fact that they put family first is much appreciated. 
I loved the way they give you time and encourage you to get to know your residents.
Yes working in aged care can be fast paced at times but working here is much better than at any hospital. Here I can negotiate my work hours around my lifestyle,
Defiantly recommend giving Sunnymeade a call if your looking for a rewarding job nursing.

Great place to work. Decent work life balance. Great pay rates with competitive salaries. Awesome company for recruiting across a diverse range of skill level, owners provide free access to on the job training and career advancement. Most working days were stress free because of accessible management and the relaxed workplace culture they have developed.
Enjoy the parties the owners put on for us.
 Hardest part of the job was to try to endure the energy draining whinging of two or three other staff on the rare shifts  we may be short staffed due to other staff just not showing up for shifts at last minute. 
All in all most shifts were enjoyable days to work, and the residents are fantastic.
Really enjoy and feel privileged being part of their life.

Apart from about a third of the staff very very toxic environment 
Management do not care about residents or staff
In their words and I quote you are just a number the residents are just a number if they pass or you leave we will replace everyone with just another number

Time restraints 
Searching for equipment and fresh linen 
Trying to get done the endless tasks management pile on

The Nursing home was the first job I had after working in an office.
So much more rewarding, caring for the elderly, listening to there stories and making their day a much happier one. Cause there are bad days like any job. To see them happy and make them as comfortable as we can. I used to love massaging their hands and feet and just to listen and talk, it also made my day.  The co-workers, most were great to work with, we are not all perfect so there was always that one or two, but you just got on with your work.  Most of work time was working as a Diversional Therapist, playing games, singing, taking them on outing.  Keeping their minds active and also their body.

Sometimes short staffed like all places makes it harder to meet all the needs of the residents

Found it to be a great environment with a lot of nice and helpful care staff

Busy but forfilling at the same time

It is a true family environment.

Difficult behaviours  and aggressive residents

It's a good place to work. When you have so many staff that have been there 20+ years. That says alot

Like any other age care facility

Really enjoy working within a wonderful team environment. Wonderful support from the Management team and great training opportunities. We work hard, aged care is a hard job but with unreal personal rewards. The money and conditions are good, could always be more but I'm not whinging.
