The money is great but it's a dodgy place not run properly they sack people for no reason make out they don't pass there medicals. When they should easily pass. Treat workers not very good and try force them to do long hours even though they don't have to. They want puppets people who can't think and stand up to them basically. If stuff goes wrong they don't like to take the blame for stuff and the machinery  doesn't do what it's suppose to cheap hand me downs. if you want good money but to be depressed everyday it's the job for you :)

From working stricly in retail only, moving to a factory was a new interesting experience. 
Most of the employee culture was exercising the same morals and ethics of any work place.
From catching chicken, I was able to move into the cleaning crew.
Teaching me the safe uses of working with chemicals and working well with a small team.
After that I was promoted to K.F.C Quality Assurance.
In that role I was taught the ins and outs of quality checks and to practice safe food handling. Also safe movement around macheinery.
All in all it was a good experience, with alot to teach and offer.

Working for steggles open my eyes to alot of diferent training opps within my grasp. I took them all on and was signed off in over 25 jobs which lead me to one and my final possistion Team Leader of front end production. Worked as team leader for over 5yrs and enjoyed it all the way. Finishing my frontline management course and a change in owners saw i needed a new life change. Moving from my current location, im heading to the sunshine coast. Im in the search for work now..

I enjoyed working with all my co-workers. We worked as a team to complete tasks that were physically challenging. The hardest part of the job was Management, but we always pulled through. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Steggles. I learnt a lot from my fellow work mates who help shape who I've become today. The only downside about Steggles, to me is the temperature of the environment we work in, which has dropped dramatically in a couple of years by 7-10 degrees.

Absolute dive
Only work there if you have no other choice

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management, unsafe work conditions and h&s is an afterthought

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. Bad work conditions make for unhappy workers

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Rendering plant always broken, having to scoop feathers and dead chickens out of pipes etc

I learnt that unless you are willing to turn a blind eye to metal mould plastic and yes even a bandaid in products you will be fine, speak up tell the truth and have a voice, your out the door. The culture DOC are absolutely deplorable!!!!! 
Higher Management do not care about the issues on the floor, and tend to bed as many workers as they can, and actually make a competition out of it. 
Company is fully run by incompetent staff and unless you sleep suck or swallow you get no,where.

Worked in the main factory . Production line work so no time to slack but excellent supervisors and managers always made you feel valued. Work was sometimes repetitive but work in other areas was available. Lots of overtime if you wanted it. Very good pay rates and company encouraged everyone to upskill and apply for supervisory rolls.

Working with steggles was a very good experience for me in being able to work on machines and knowing how to cut up the turkeys even though that was the hardest part of the job. It was a friendly environment, everyone is always team working together. its was just an absolute joy working with steggles even though it was a short time working with them due to letting people go.

it was such a fast pace at all times, had to get permission to go to the toilet, management didn't seem to credit or value there really good workers. Such long hours, and would ask you at the last minute if t
you can stay back for an hour, then when you are committed, it can end up another 4 hours in over time.

Hanging bay dept was one of the worst places ive ever worked in as it was dark, dusty and smelled bad.
Live chickens coming in and you have to try and pick them up to hang on the shackles.
Fun and very challenging.
This job is not for everyone.
Just for those who are strong minded and can handle bad smell in the head with alot of noise.
