St. John of God Hospital

For the past 3 years I have had the pleasure of working in the Health Information Services office. From starting as a Health Information Clerk I was offered to take on more responsibilities as a Pre-Admission Clerk, which is another job within the Health Information Services office. Both jobs required a lot of accurate data entry in a fast paced environment, which I thrived in.

A typical day included receiving and sorting mail, entering patients details into the online database, and calling and receiving calls from patients that had enquiries or had to fill in paperwork.

While working at St. John of God I learnt how to use their database along with a few things within Microsoft Office.

The management and workplace culture within the Health Information Services office was very good. Everyone in the office was well managed to meet their daily tasks, as one positions duties needed to be completed for another position to continue.

The hardest part of the job was on Mondays, because the office was closed over the weekend there was usually more paperwork than any other day.

The most enjoyable part of the job for me was the data entry side. Because the job consisted of entering a lot of data with accuracy I prided myself on being as efficient as I could be, getting through the work in the least amount of time with minimal errors.

I enjoyed working for St John of God Pathology because the people I worked with were great and we all worked as part of a team and everyone got along very well. My days were busy and the time went quickly but there was always time for a quick laugh. I loved my job but a sign of the times has seen positions become redundant due to work being sent offshore and sadly this has happened to me and my department.

Great facility to work in with constant upgrades. Hours are dependent on patient numbers, therefore no security in constant wages. All staff are partime and are signed to low hour contracts with a big pool of staff for ease of rostering during busy and quiet times. Very few opportunities to advance past the department you entered into.

The Manager is a narcissistic cow, she speaks down to people and flirts with any male that enters the department, so unprofessional.  
Great learning experience, enjoyable work but very busy and pressured.  False praise from Manager who delves private information at hand overs to the whole work group.  
Seen so many staff members yelled at and in tears, no people skills whatsoever

Extremely toxic. 
Management malicious, underhanded  and dangerous to work with. 
Gossip mongering, backstabbing & unethical behaviour from bullying groups of nurses,  irresponsible of the damage they cause not only to the nurses they bully but also to the patients who feel they are a part of the collateral damage 

Very busy environment but everyone is a Team Member and help each other.
Excelent worth Ethics
Due to the economy being down we now have to work extra volumes of work 2 jobs for 1 person.
I love helping people so enjoy being there and love working with the Doctors and nurses.
I have been there 29years and never bored as I meet people all day.

Work culture was respectful & caring. 
Given a lot of autonomy, which was good, but support there when required 
Provided me opportunity to problem solve creatively and think outside the square. 
Negotiable with hours when job grew and the job shrank due to covid. 

Lovley place to work , everyone is so friendly and kind . Always helpful . Good pay and work hours . Very fast paced and quick which is a great thing.  I would highly recommend 

Exciting job. Learned a lot here. Great team. Hardest is keeping everyone happy. Most enjoyable is the friendly culture and great achievements.

Loved working here, staff are friendly and encouraging.  Management are down to earth.
Very rewarding and also do salary sacrifice.
