My experience working for Sonic HealthPlus was not great at all. The training was given for this role- an entry level position was very poor. I was trained by an employee who had a few weeks before they left the company for a new job. I was told to sit and watch for 1 week, then I was on my own. I remember giving it my best effort, tried asking questions but I found the team lead of the osborne park bookings team (among many others I have discussed with) very erratic and unapproachable. It was a micromanaged environment with remarks given that made you feel inadequate and ‘in trouble’ often. I was junior in my career and did not realise just how toxic this job was to my mental health. It took months for me to unlearn the anxious patterns I had in place for fear of not doing something perfectly and receiving hurtful feedback. The pay was very poor for the amount of work you had on your plate. Sonic health-plus, profiting over a billion every financial year and is one of Australia’s leading occupational health providers but fails to supply enough staff and a fair wage to the employees responsible for alliance bookings, a very stressful scheduling role. They hire junior staff so they can get away with it as they are less familiar with their rights and what a good workplace should look like. When I resigned and found a new position with better management, the team lead failed to even turn their head from their desk and say goodbye, just yelled “bye” as I walked out the door, crying. I believe this company could succeed and be the best in the industry, had they changed their management and paid employees slightly more. I would not recommend this role if the circumstances remain the same. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I was working close to home.  The Doctors were brilliant. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not feeling like I could trust the clinic manager. She had a small circle of staff that were her friends . They gossiped and talked about other staff members. I was also overworked and underpaid. I did not feel valued for my hard work and dedication. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment was pleasant, but the clinic management and culture within the clinic was toxic. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day was working under time pressure, without back up or support. One person working the job of three people. Clinic manager having no idea how my department operates. And being micro managed from head office.

You will be expected to go above and beyond for a company that cannot even provide a living wage for their employees, despite making BILLIONS in profits. 

Management will react negatively when you ask for a pay rise, despite employees throughout the business quitting due to the low pay coupled with the heavy workload.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The Colleagues are the best part.  Hard working honest people who care about others.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management that do not treat employees or patients with respect.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture from worker to worker is good.  The culture from management to worker is very poor.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day involves all aspects of my job and others, as people are poorly trained and rarely supported . Often one person ends up doing the lions share of work.

I didn’t work for these guys, but instead had a medical examination for my company through them in Perth city. There was so many staff just talking, three patients waiting and it took them 3.5 hours to do somethings but they didn’t even finish basic medical examination before they said sorry we can’t do a blood sample because we’re closing you’ll have to come back? An absolute amateur  operation. Like a hen house/ pathetic and $40 in car park fees. Not impressed and would not recommend. 2 days off work Pathetically slow, and no accountability or respect for paying patients time.

My role was as a FIFO healthy lifestyles coordinator as such not related to the bulk of roles in the company which are focused around health.  This role was rewarding and fulfilling as it is focused around positive interactions with people who are seeking to better their health.  To work around mine workers hours the role involved split shifts making it a 14 hour day with a 2 hour break in the middle.

I worked there for 7 month and they bullied me to the point I had anxiety attack twice. The manager and team leaders are liars, backstabbers, cruel and two faced. The only good things about that place were the friends you make & the pay as a casual it’s amazing but no amount of money is worth the treatment and trauma I endured. 
Please stay clear of this company.

horrible work environment. Didn’t care for workers at all. Extremely unprofessional from employees to managers. Overworked and not care for by managers/higher up. Not advancement opportunities, bad salary for expected job. Does have a good work life balance being it’s only pro. Had massive potential but not right people to get it there. 

Bullying management
Unprofessional and VERY unorganised
No communication, constant changes so need to be able to go with the flow. If you like organisation this is not the job for you.
If you raise any concerns you get fired
Work is really easy
Pay is good but pay is always wrong
Management never support staff only their management they stick together.



This is by far the worst company to work for. They under pay their staff and treat you like a number in a cattle line. Manager has no clue what they are doing either. Don't bother applying they just gave us all a pay cut. They overload you with work exceeding your contract and you're exhausted by the end of the day.
