My tenure at SevenWest has been full of inovation technologically and managerially, strives in media and a constant grind to improve work flow, departmental communication and sheer amount of content has lead SevenWest to be one of the powerhouses of Australian Media for a reason; they are always on the path to success and that is reflected in working for them. There is always a goal and a height to reach on an almost day to day basis.

Very intensive hours sometimes 19 hours a day, lots of demanding personalities in the office, no penalty rates and little to no opportunity for advancement in the hierarchy unless you are willing to engage in Machiavellian and cunning tactics to deceive peers and impress management. Would not recommend unless you are highly motivated for a career in commercial television and highly resilient to interpersonal conflict.

Lots of promises but very little delivery. Complete lack of direction and innovation. HR (or "People and Culture") think they are implimenting all these great programs but they are ultimately hollow and meaningless. The only skills required to succeed at Seven are butt-kissing and being two-faced. Anyone with talent or any idea is ignored, ostracized or pushed out. 

Thought joining the online arm of a trusted and respected news brand would be a great step for my career. Turned out to be the complete opposite. Utterly incompetent management, only ever chasing clicks, no original or innovative ideas and people treated like garbage. HR cares more about their online seminars and diversity initiatives than actual training and development. 

If you fancy working in a company that operates a two tier workforce then this the place for you. On the one hand there are the workers the company locked out for 10 weeks  and on the other the workers who continued to work. Guess who gets preferential treatment. 

good workplace, supportive team. do a good job on training, and questions are always answered by people who can. leadership turnover can be distressing, lots of promotion from within. a great place to work. 

Great place for a new journo to learn the ropes. There were plenty of opportunities to learn and grow - many senior staff were willing to give feedback and guide reporters. 
However, management was poor, unprofessional and unorganised. 

Good place to jumpstart your career as graphic designer & make connections to many of the great people & clients. However, the office politics is very apparent in there & everyone are fighting for power.

Overall (10 years of working there) SWM was a good place to work.  In the past 3 years SWM has not reacted to a changing media landscape and have been left behind.  Very sorry to say that management in 2020 is at an all-time low.

Productive & fun workplace, managers could be more collaborative to help junior workers advance. 
Missed learning opportunities.  Fun people, kind & inclusive workplace.
