-	Engaged in Bolting, Flange management and Tensioning operations
-	Provided direction and training to personnel on the correct and safe way to operate various pressurising pump.
 

My roster was a 28/9.  12 hr days
I have got my operating vehicles in the field and operate and maintain a four-wheel drive vehicle.   Also have my working at heights and confine space ticket. HC license. Manual car license.  
I have been working for this company for about 16 months

This is about laying of 42inches of joined steel pipes into a trench of 420 klms for the GLNG gas line from Injune to Curtis Island near Gladstone in Northern Queensland. My task is to lay fibre optic cable on this pipe line for data signal. I started work at 5.30am every 7 days of the week and finished off at 5pm. Saipem gave us a roster to work 28 days and to have a break for 9 days. This work enabled me to know  and do the proper actions as required at every new job sites. High standard of communication by walkie talkies, hand signals and talking between workers on the job. The best part of the job is when machinery and workers move forward for 2-3hrs non stop.

Really enjoyed working on Barrow Island for SLC wish I could've worked a little longer, worked with a wide variety of good people and the bosses where really easy to approch with any problems that I had faced whether it was work or personal. Would work for them again. Always kept biusy with a full work load and plenty of OT. Safty was the key to the job helping both my co-workers and myself to return home safely, was a well thought out coarse and really easy to follow and understand.

Your typical day at work consisted of a enjoyable hard 14 hour day in a productive work environment constructing a 400 km pipeline from Injune to gladstone.

Whilst on this job I was placed in a role of leadership being appointed firstly a Leading hand before being appointed a Supervisior.  From this I learnt the values of communication and forward planning as well as team work and time management.  These are the skills I will take forward to further career opportunities.

The most enjoyable part of my job was witnessing the completion of the 2 1/2 year project.

It's job oriented,always closer to people with more experience and ready to learn at all times.

The job was rewarding in many ways, learning new skill sets, working with a proactive team that embraced the safety culture promoted by the client and also enjoying any free time in camp. Days were sometimes challenging due to weather conditions or production schedule, but the close knit group worked together to get the required result.
          In all my time on this project has given me new friends and work colleagues further financial security for our families and experience in a different field.

Saipem are too used to working in third world countries. With regards to SAFETY and people management.Otherwise, the experience was great. The fellow workers got on really well together at work and back in camp.I learnt a great deal about the Pipeline industry, enough to make me want to continue in this industry.

Although the work was remote at times, saipem made the effort to make it feel like we were at home with the comforts of a gym and good acess to communication, i gained a lot of experience with saipem from learning the process of pipe laying to driving 40 tonne dumptrucks to environmental awareness for sediment controls for preventing soil run off. overall i loved my time out with saipem, i am really hoping to get another job like it!

Days are busy with a lot to learn and good people relationship and management. Safety and quality are very important to the company and her management. The hardest part of the day is when it rains because activities crippled. The fun part of the is resolving daily challenges as there's is always something new to learn even from the least of such challenges and a committed team to with.

Typical day at work wake up early at camp have breaky get lunch ready which was all provided  for and travel out to our work location. 
Arrive at work location pre jeep da pipeline looking for defects in the pipeline and if found we repair and patch coat the area with the defect.
