When I got the job at Ralph Lauren, there has been a lot of pressure going on in my head. I always thought that it is a premium brand that requires a premium quality service to customers. As I started, and up until this day, I have never felt that I was never belong in this store. The positive energy of the workplace environment has kept me going and easy to blend in. People working in this store, including the management, has been very helpful and thoughtful to each other. Since it is a premium brand, it is mandatory to have order and cleanliness in the floor to give premium retail experience to its customers; hence, a typical day at work is quite busy tidying up. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the part when I don't feel like I'm working because I have learned to love what I'm doing with Ralph Lauren-DFO.

Gorgeous brand to work for but terrible management. I was belittled and bullied (almost to the point where I did not enjoy coming into work and it became emotionally/physically draining) and they made me feel bad for calling in sick if I was ill. Lots of gossiping about other staff performance/attitude, and office politics. You're micromanaged each day and pressured into KPI sales - other sales staff fight for sales.

Otherwise, the brand itself has a good structure for learning and incentives were fantastic from the time I worked there.

The clicky behaviour of higher management and the favouritism

They please inclusiveness but are extremely toxic

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
All about operations and stick control.

As a starter to luxury retail it is a great option, varying from fast to slow pace depending on the season, although you really have to prove yourself to become full time. Great store to learn how to treat clothes and clients, and meet others in the industry, the pay isn’t as stunning as other brands and neither are the hours. But that also comes into how much you apply yourself to the role, they are usually open to you expanding into different areas for the brand as well

- an average day at work, would be customer service/ reorganising stock on floor/ point of sales 

- I developed a different type of social skills e.g. interacting with different types of customers 

- management within the work place was relaxed and kind 

-workplace culture was fun and bubbly also very positive 

- hardest part of the job was to interact with difficult customers 

- most enjoyable part was giving customer service and receiving positive feed back from the customers

Ensured a good rotation of the different departments. This helped with the completion of tasks day-to-day as the days differed, be it working in the changing room, on the polo wall, kids wear etc. It also ensured a greater product knowledge having experienced all the different sizes and body types. Staff were all very friendly and easy to get along well with.

Ralph Lauren as a brand talks about work ethics & equality. If you happen to work at RL outlet store in homebush you will see where the ethics are heading. Manager is hopeless & so are her leadership skills. She believes everyone should worship her to save their jobs and openly preaches and practises the same. Do yourself a favour by avoiding to work at homebush store.

For a full time job, it was extremely stressful, considering the people working there and the management. Very poor management.There was nothing good .no support from upper management.Culture was toxic .bad management. Really stressful work environment.

Polo Ralph Lauren was a lot of fun to work for because the staff were fun, the management were always supportive and there was opportunity for growth, especially when asked plans would be set out for personal growth.
