a typical day at work: Clock in, open up or take over a checkout, and start working. Sometimes the till might need a clearance, or the checkout needs to be cleaned, but most days are very similar.

What I learned: How to handle money quickly and efficiently, how to memorize various codes, how to handle customers.

Management: I have one or two supervisors at a time, above them would be the store manager, who I interact with occasionally.

Coworkers: My coworkers are friendly, talkative and they do their roles efficiently.

Hardest part of the job: Probably dealing with irrational or aggressive customers, it is hard because there usually isn't much I can do(as supervisors have all the tools and power available).

Most enjoyable part of the job: Being on the express checkout. I prefer dealing with 5-10 customers with 10 items or less, than two or three with 30-50 items. I feel the satisfaction is higher when you process more peoples items.

1. shop always busy, need to focus in cash register and with good customer servicing skills.

2. Handling cash, card payments. Giving exact change for customers with fast acting skills.

3. Helpful co-workers, able to help for packing the food during the busy hours.

4. Tuesdays is the senior discount day, so i am so happy to serve senior customers and also other customers.I like to meet peoples and willing to serve customers with happy face.

Even though it was a nice environment to work in, the manager would put you on the roster then you would know what day your are working, then once you knew, she would take your name off and place it with another colleagues.  This happened to everyone on numerous occasions. I went in there alot of times when I thought I would be working and was not.

It was good working there when it had customers and everything, then when staff started getting made redundant and hours were getting cut, i knew it was going to end bad, and it did, ALDI now sits where IGA once stood and that is all that remains of IGA

Was hands on and busy.
Learnt to rotate stock and fill shelves with new products build ends.
Management was good.
Co-workers were very pleasant.
I didn't find the job/s to be hard.
Enjoyable part was being able to meet new people, and learn new skillls

Learnt to balance tills,operate registers,stock taking and supervising others. Management was friendly and approachable who provided opportunities for advancements.

I enjoyed working at PSIGA especially on busy days as there was always something to do. I enjoyed working with fellow staff members and assisting customers with their various needs.

Days at Progressve Supa IGA were good and people are very friendly, we had some fun staff. i worked in a few different departments to get a wide variety of training. management are alright.

Progressive IGA was a great work place with friendly and inviting staff which soon came close friends. Unfortunately the store and many more shut down and all jobs became unavailable.
