My hours were not that bad and when I wanted to I could do full length hours as well, I was available to work any hours just not after midnight. when ever I put stock out and if there were anything beyond my reach then if there was anyone available to help then I would ask but first try myself, but if it wasn't possible and there was no one around then I would see if there was any other stock to put out. 
whilst working for this company, I have learnt how to communicate with customers, take orders on phone, and there was such situations where as a sales assistant would have to manage the floor whilst the managers and supervisors were at meeting, so I also do have a bit of experience on how to supervise and what to do in certain situations when some customers might get funny. 
overall what I mostly enjoyed about my job was that if we're in a positive mood then we manage to change the customers moods as well, and it is also not very hard to make friends there as its a really good atmosphere. although we sometimes are given tasks in certain seasons, where we as a sales assistant would have to advertise them from the tills.

My typical day is on the customer service desk which can test your patience at times, however i enjoy working on there as without this i wouldn't have developed my communication skills not only with staff but with customers. On the Customer service desk I have been able to deal with some of the hardest customer complaints. I have also learned on the customer service desk how to be decisive and manage my team effectively. The management team at Primark are supportive and helpful when you have any queries, my co workers are great they can where they can when it comes to customers and the behind the scenes work. Id say the hardest part of my job is when you end up with  a difficult customer who is abusive towards you an remaining calm in that situation. However the most enjoyable part of the job is working with customers as it means that you get to interact with people and every day is different, with each new customer comes a new challenge.

Primark invites you to a whole new world of people a typnd experiences. A typical day at work will entail keeping the shopfloor clean and making sure that stock is always replenished as and when it is needed. It is a fast paced working environment so there is no time for hanging around. If you like to be kept busy, Primark is definitely the place. 
Although the work can become quite tedious, especially on busy days and weekends, you will create a close knit relationship with your team who will keep you going throughout the day.

While working at Primark Ilford, I would do a four hour shift on a Saturday to accommodate my Sixth form study. There was always the option to do overtime if i desired. My typical shift would consist of tidying shelves of clothes, folding, replenishing products that were running low, answering customer queries and working on the tills. The hardest part of the job was having to work quickly in a very busy environment at times. Personally the most enjoyable part of the job was bringing out new stock and deciding how to display it in order to increase profit for the company. I always felt like a valued member of the team and my colleagues were incredibly supportive and helpful.

Quickish work pace dependent on what you do within the store. Could be more productive in quiet moments. A high number of staff for the size of the store. Good training in your area of work. Most of management are nice and fair people. Majority of staff are welcoming. A few spoil it for the rest as they have their feet firmly within the company. OK for working around other commitments and school hours though that is changing so probably not as inviting for some as it once was. If the company made a few staff changes it would be a really good place to work

I have learnt to deal with customers in the correct manner, i work in the fitting room and on the shopfloor, and recover the store for my first hour, then for the next 3 hours i am in the fitting room, if customers need advice on wether a product is okay, i will try my best to advise them, if not i will suggest something different, i rarely have an unhappy customer! my most enjoyable part of the job is the customer interaction, and putting a smile on someones face, the hardest part of the job can be the queues, and trying to keep alot of people happy at one time, but i believe i can do that with ease.

you work 5 days out of 7 sounds ok just like any othere retailer
so why is it a 50hr working week when every other retailer works a 39hr week, not explained utill you have started with them never coverd at interview stage even when we asked
maybe it was just the Newcastle store I was handed a list of manager’s mobile numbers!!!!The expectation was as the store was so big and the company would only supply one phone per floor- you were to use your own personnel mobile to contact each other.
And oh yes you order all your own stock in

The work load at Primark is beyond inhumane. Managers expect new workers to be working at fast speeds by the second shift. Managers use customer assistants as slaves with no regard to their well-being. They are spoken to like dogs. It is terrible. The health and safety at the Marble Arch store is disgusting. The store's AC is not effective at all, causing workers to be working in their own sweat. 

Managers do not know how to treat people fairly. HR team at primark are there for show. Terrible job.

A typical day at primark - All ways keep busy each sales deparments always have alot to keep stock full on sales floor as it sells rather fast.
I learnt alot at primark cutomer service how to work in a part of a team every one is very polite and understanding.
The hardest part of the job recovery in summer holidays when kids are off the store is hard to recover but also manage to get done
The most enjoyable part of the job is getting to know every one n working in a team and acually achieving what you have done in the day.

I do weekend afternoon shifts, and it's pretty good.

A typical day involves answering customer queries, and tidying certain areas of the store, whether placing stock, hanging clothes or folding them to look presentable.

Management is helpful and the co-workers are usually in a similar situation to you - easy to get along with most of them.

Hardest part would be to try and keep up when the store gets very busy.

Overall, a good place to work for a student, the job overall is not very taxing.
