Pizza Capers

I have worked for many years at my parent's Pizza Capers store. It is an enjoyable place to work for a myriad of reasons. a typical day at work would involve starting in the evenings when business is in full swing, usually start at the sinks, cleaning and tidying and then relieve our pizza maker for a short time. i supervise staff, answer phones, create and email off orders for ingredients to our supplier, make small talk with customers waiting on their order and assist in cashing up the till at the end of the night. I am responsible for roster creation and replacing sick staff. I have learned most importantly (since being promoted to assistant manager), leadership qualities that will benefit me throughout life. management are light hearted and down to earth people who respect hard work and personal pride. the hardest part of the job is probably taking accurate phone orders on a busy friday night when it's hard to hear the person placing the order over the noise spilling out from the kitchen behind me. The most enjoyable part of the job is the personal satisfaction I receive when I turn an unhappy or disgruntled customer into a happy and repeat one.

A typical day at work varies between how busy we are that day. However, the staff working are always wholeheartedly dedicated to putting their best into each product that leaves the store. 
The management aspect of the job has really helped me grow as an individual. The manager role has taught me how to fairly roster people on, without making costly changes to the business. 
The hardest part of the job would be saying no. For me the most difficult concept to grasp is having to disappoint someone when I physically can't do something to help them out, for example get a shift covered for someone when they ask. 
The most rewarding part of the job however is when all the hard work I put into the business is acknowledged by someone, whether it be a customer or a fellow staff member.

An average shift working for Pizza Capers include taking customers orders, making pizzas, cutting pizzas, handling money and washing dishes. Through this job I learnt the importance of food safety. This job can have stressful moments through the night however, overall shifts are enjoyable and isn't too stressful for the whole shift. In this workplace you learn how to work as a team which has overall helped in other aspects including school and other social interactions and helps improve the environment you work in.  In this job you work shorter hours which allow you to have the day to do other activities.

Pizza Capers is a fun enjoyable place to work, but can get a little bit busy at times and test you and your abilities to work as a team and get through the shift. I found it easy to learn all the prospects of the job really easy. 
The management is great, and is strict with certain things. The people I work with are easy going and good to get along, good to have a chat with while you're doing your tasks. 
The hardest part of the job was when I first started learning every pizza and every topping and also how to use the computers.
The most enjoyable thing about Pizza Capers is that i get the opportunity to get taught the right way and learn things I might not be able to learn in other places.

Beenleigh Pizza capers was a family owned franchise, My brother was the manager and i was the assistant manager. The employees were great except for the occasional sick call only hours before their shift i would then give up my free time to go work their shift which was not ideal but i didn't complain "much". Ohhh and i was 14 when we bought the shop and yet i put in more effort then my brother who was 23 at the time :( overall i learned a lot of skills from my time working at pizza capers. And not to forget to mention i would open the shop by myself on weekends to do dough and count the till while also serving early morning customers.

I loved working at pizza capers. I loved making pizzas and running the shop. I THRIVE in customer service so i am always running for the customers. Not that i got many but i also love solving customers problems and seeing them come back. I love everything in hospitality...... I also love building up a store which i did at a consistent rate ( just read the reviews and posts on Pizza Capers Clayfield on the facebook page.)

Pizza Capers is a fun place to work providing you have a down to earth manager who is up to trying new things. I learnt at Pizza Capers that you cant take anything for granted and that ownership of the company does change and will put off casual staff who are over the age of 20 as their wages are too expensive.... Hardest part of the job... hours being cut down due to being in the age bracket they dont want working in the shop. Enjoyable part.... having amazing staff to work with including managers who let us have fun while working to bring in a happy working environment.

All stores are privately owned 
The owners of my store were hiring young workers with promise of trainieeships .
They give very few shifts (one a week for 4 hours)
And the business owner was very bias to certain staff, even promoting someone to management after a few weeks working at the store with minimum experience. I was fired after a few months and new younger staff were hired in replacement, I was 16 at the time.
Due to this I was offered a life long 30% discount. :)

I have been employed by Retail Food Group who are in the process of selling the pizza capers store that I have been working for. The managers keep resigning because of the constant pressure put on them by the company. It is badly managed as we are always running out of product. I often do not get paid correctly and it is difficult to get the pay back because the owners of the store do not communicate with us directly.

Pizza Capers was my favourite job. I worked at Pizza Capers for two years and learnt all types of skills from customer service, cash handling, time management, ect. These skills helped me a lot with my other jobs especially Gumvale as I worked as a cashier there and it helped me a lot n my skills with customers. I enjoyed working with the people and management, they were nice people and were always helping me achieve my best.
