The role is full-filling as your help potential students to get into their educational goals. 
Through servicing outbound, inbound and messaging. 

Learning is everyday and grow for the better and implement them. 

Management is always looking for more based on quarterly KPI changes with the market. But overall it is not that bad compared to other companies.

Workplace culture is great. hybrid set up and every quarterly there are team events to participate in (optional)

The hardest part of the job would be at the start, the learning curve of understanding the Higher education model and advising students on the right course, but it eventually becomes easier.

The enjoyable part of the job is working from home :) 

If you are looking for a career plan and progression into meaningful positions such as marketing, and/or other places within the company, this may not be a suitable setup. 

But if you're looking to set yourself up growing in the call-center field into a Team leader position, then there are processes that can be part of being built on. The hardest part is, is based on high performance, and waiting for the opportunity to rise.

But overall this is a really good place to work if you are just starting off  with 1 or 2 years of work experience, a University student looking to have a stable income flow,  or looking for a solid ground for a couple of years. 

The training and development are provided so that not a problem. 

Just need to maintain performance and KPIs, and contribute to the team efforts and all is well. :)


Throughout the entire day the role would consist of dealing with 50 calls (More during close of enrolment). Students would call through to our inbound department and enquire about the courses we offered and how to create a study plan. 

My job involved asking discovery questions to tailor the product into the students day to day life. Managing the students account and adding the subsequent classes of study to the students study plan. We had to follow a quality assurance process that ensured we asked the correct questions and followed a protocol to ensure the students were aware of their study load and career opportunities for chosen courses. 

A normal call would last between 7-15 minutes where I would present the product line to the student and sell them the product that best suited their needs.

Change is a constant, but that is no comfort to the people who can't contribute to the vision. Management has been erratic and indecisive. They seem to ignore industry trends with often disastrous results. When they do invest in something, it is often the wrong thing, they then over invest and then people lose jobs to pick up the shortfall.
They promptly build it up again, hire more people and the process starts again.

The environment created at Open University Australia is something every company should strive to achieve, with a employee's having a positive mindset and a company Moto "continuing to improve", this created a way of thinking of "that's amazing but is there something that could make the experience for either the student or employees better"

The tutoring can be rewarding on account of the wide variety of students. However, the organisation does not value educational experience. It is primarily driven by quite restrictive commercial considerations. Many co-workers are really good people to work but some in management do not seem to understand the importance of ethics.

OUA is a good place to work.  It rewards and encourages high achievement.  It values caring for eachother as one of its three values.  Time is taken to enjoy work.  The culture has its sweet spot well to the left of centre which is good if that works for you.

The Learning Team within the call centre are an agile group of dedicated professionals that deliver amazing results in training the complex processes and knowledge required by staff to perform their roles with confidence and expertise.

this job was fulfilling due to the fact it was job to see people educate themselves this in its self was rewarding. hi turn over of staff showed that expected kpis were not acheiveable and bonus's were not paid as per contract

Student Advisor dealing with day to day incoming calls and leads directing the students with the procedures how to get started with their career in studies and also keeping their records up o date.

Although i do not work with Open Universities Australia, i find that they are an excellent institution to study with. The employees are friendly and are always willing to provide assistance when needed.
