Nyrstar port pirie is a dangerous site literally falling down around you. Maintenance is almost non existant and the environment and employees are poisoned with pollution and toxic gases daily. Probably the worst place I have ever worked and management do not care about their employees at all and are quick to pass the blame onto them any time they can.

Nyrstar is a very large site, so you get to know a lot of people and make new friendships. Its very supportive and willing to help everyone learn! Safety is the biggest key to working on a big site this mine and everyone knows that! we have very safe workers who are willing to stop a job for safety if the job is unsafe and dangerous. we get a great variety of work which is fun. Management are positive and always willing to help.

Safety is priority respectively that of employees safety and well being. There is equal opportunity for every employee to progress their skills,  knowledge and gain certified competency in order to expand future career options. Was a very pleasant company to work for , especially the Shift Roster . Consisting of 2 days followed by 2 nights shift s then 4 days off . nights

I worked with a Labour Hire Company at Nyrstar for 7.5yrs....
Money was great, I didn't mind the shift work, but the lack of safety and wellbeing for their workers has a lot to be desired....
If anyone asked me should they apply for a job there 'I'd say go ahead and make up your own mind..... 
I was glad I finally made the decision to leave for my own health and wellbeing.

Work culture in general is colloborative , mix of fast paced and relaxed work . Management is dedicated to improve the performance and are effective ,although there are legacy issues due to transition of company in past few years.
Overall quite a fun place to work with the right mindset. 

Nyrstar being a big company like it is should be a sought after type of place to work. it was once a great place but not anymore. due to new management coming in and ruining it.  under paid bad conditions. over 80 employees have resigned since January 2018.

Working in cell rooms that hold up to 40,000 watts of electricity, replacing acid lips and walkways between cells. 

Civil works such as digging and concreting.

Hardest part at the job would be the acid dripping onto skin or clothing causing itches and uncomfortable situation.

Nyrstar is a great workplace with a collaborative environment rarely seen in a fast-paced laboratory. Management was very supportive. Will strongly recommend it to family or friends.

I think they have to look at management they are desperate for workers not many start and stay long they have backward way of treating there workers i seen someone almost get burnt to death mistake after mistake toxic enviroment
