A typical day would start with client difficulties and overcoming those difficulties which could include making several phone calls or personal visit to collect all data in regard to hurdle and speaking iwth all stakeholders to ascertain clarity, recognise problem and find a solution to suit all stakeholders.  Sometimes an out of the box solution would be required and creative thinking to ensure all stakeholders were happy with outcome of decisions made.

Throught the day contact with clients and employers to progress business activity to next level.

Present Interview Skills Workshops to clients, gauge progress of clients, recommend activities for better outcomes, constnatly update CV, take clients to potential employers, do walk ins with clients, negotitate contracts, wages, hours of client for work start.  Monitor client after start of employment and continue ongoing contact with employers.

These tasks were not limited to these alone as all manner of engagment with clients, guardians and employers was conducted.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My experience with Northcott Society is where I gained further knowledge which helped me to gain future employment after relocating interstate. I will be forever grateful for my continuous improvement and privilege of my employment with this organisation. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Challenging at times working with some staff as well as working with high behaviours

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
From my personal experience I would say this company is professional and follows policies and procedures as well as supportive to their employees. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Too long to say as there was no typical day, everyday was new and different day. Our training was mandatory as well as progress note keeping each day, reading and understanding any changes in NDIS plans, health and safety procedures or in relation to customer or client care plans.

Was working for another organisation and Northcott took us over.

Transition wasn't completely smooth but now I can say that we are far more settled than we have ever been with a great manager at our site.

I was able to keep working in Finance even though it is run in Parramatta and I live/work in Canberra and it is flexible to do full time hours around children requirements.

My duties can vary throughout the day but I have learned some invalable skills and was able to help implement quicker processes.

Working with the team in Canberra and Parramatta is fantastic with friendly staff.

Hardest Part - when changes are not communicated or discussed with those impacted and you have to quickly come up with solutions to ensure your own processes are continue to working

Attend to clients individualised NDIS plans 
Be proactive in assisting with meaningful  social recreation and helping people enjoy their lives 
Be prepared to work hard and in frustrating circumstances at least some of the time 
Be prepared to do cleaning and  personal care for many clients 
Use your training to the letter 
Down to earth and friendly staff in the main
Clients (who have capacity) or their staff of families  , choose their staff more with ndis , so can be happier with the services they get .


Useless managers who had no idea how to comprehend. Recently changed system to export calls to sydney, makes it even harder. Useless staff with a terrible blame culture. Expect to work 60 hours a week with no overtime, no breaks and no employe learning. 

Day program consists of not hitting any goals for individual with repetitive lazy cooridinated schedules. No leader, staff always complaining. Bad culture.

Northcott have a signed EBA to equate to the loweat paying hourly rate in the business. Save yourself the hassel and avoid this useless business at all costs.

I have really enjoyed working for Northcott..in Taree.
Never have i seen clients treated with such kindness and respect. As a Support Worker; i have found the Team on the floor to be both integral and fun. Assisting each other to enable clients to be at the forefront of the daily focus. 
Management were both understanding and fair in regard to both work and personal issues.
Hoping to remain with Northcott for a long time as Career opportunities may prevail.
Northcott is an enjoyable work environment.

More support neded to direct care staff members.Attitudes and arrogance needs to be replaced with integration and easy going work environment. More training would help for casual staff members to deliver beter service to consumers. 

A very hostile place to work.  Unsafe environments, management are not supportive and treat workers extremely poorly. Standover tactics as well as verbal and physical abuse is the normal environment from co workers. Understaffed and will single out agency workers who are called in to help. Expect being abused in various forms from co workers and the opposite of "help" from management.  If you get abused management will suggest you toughen up.  Not very friendly people or company.
