A typical day at work would be going in putting my things in the office coming out with a smile and working on the cash registers. Greeting customers and having conversations with the locals. Everyday I learned new things within the workforce. Management in the place was professional, we had different roles to be done by the end of your shift. The hardest part of the job would have to be when I had split shifts, I would work from the morning until lunch have a two hour break then come back and do the close. Working at Night Owl I met a lot of customers that became friends and people I can have a chat to outside of work. I loved working on the registers.

Working at night owl detailed, stock rotation and seeing customers with the occasional stock take. On occasion i would have to prepare food as well. I had learnt this in my previous jib so it was no problem. Management did the best they could but were constantly changing aspects of the job which made it difficult. I generally got along with all co workers and did everything in my power to assist them. The hardest part of the job was using an old ladder to stock some products as the foot holders were very dinted. the most enjoyable part was working with some employees whom helped when needed.

The best part of working at the company is the customers and the opportunity to work your way up the ladder.

When you have staff that don’t do their jobs and you have to do their job as well as your own

A typical day for me is you are always on the go there was no time to have your breaks as you are the only person on by yourself

Working by yourself for your whole shift 5/9/10/12 hours

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As long as the team is good, then the culture is good. One point the team was not good so it was a hostile environment. No body took responsibility for anything.

Full on. Turn on all the equipment, print out reports. Open shop. Cook all the food. Check emails. Checks expiry dates. Defrost schedule

Great place to work. Except for putting wage price before good customer service. As I was let go due to franchisee selling and head office taking over which meant they hired much younger staff members which cost less than myself. They were a great company to work for besides that. My co-workers were great and my new management didn't have any idea of good customer service and weren't open to any criticism about there wrong procedures. Most enjoyable part of the job was making customers satisfied

on your feet most of the time, cooking, cleaning, restocking, re-organising, and ensuring that the store was a safe environment for all

A typical day at work,is interesting. You get all sorts of people in and some of them can be difficult. Most people are easy to serve and some are even nice. Of course you get your rude and difficult customers but they are few.
    You are generally busy from the time you start till the time you finish . There is always something to do . You will need to stock up shelves, fridges and check use by dates on everything regularly. If you are not re stocking then you are cleaning and serving customers with a smile no matter how you feel.

Very High expectations on Managers from Franchisee & Company with low reward for extra effort & time applied. 

Have made friends with staff & customers at every store I have worked at which makes a friendly work environment.

I was able to be creative with displays & store presentation which made environment fun for staff & customers.

For the past 3 1/2 years I have been travelling up to 2 hours a day to Stones Corner, Brisbane job & now is time to find a local job and a new direction to re-new my enthusiasm.

Overall it was an ok job that paid the bills. I didn't have a great experience with the people at my store but people are different everywhere. Cant fault the pay but unless your management or something, your only going to be casual. Theres no room for growing in the company. Your always going to be an assistant. I was always alone so I was eating lunch between serving customers so hot food went cold before I got to eat it. There were no proper breaks in the store, you kind of had to work it out between customers.

Working at Nigh-Owl was beneficial for me because I was finishing my last years of school. It provided me with flexible hours so that I could work on my schooling studies. The store was always friendly and I enjoyed my time working. The customers would always be welcomed into the store with a smile. Overall my experience was great.
