Night Fill

A typical day at work usually entails helping customers as it is a retail store. if im working on the registers or in the fitting room, you go about doing other small jobs but you always come back to help the customers. Im normally Replenishment but due to a work injury im no longer doing that as much but when I was the main focus of that was to get as much of the stock onto the shelfs as possible each night so that it was full the next day for the customers to purchase, it was different to anything I have done before but I enjoyed it a lot because I learnt something different when I was doing it.I have learned a lot from working here because before working here I wasn't very familiar with retail and working with customers (the good and difficult ones) but once being here for a fair while it gets easier and you get to no the store and products and you are able to help more easier and that's one of the things I love, being able to help the customers. My co-workers are some of the best people that I no, they seem to make my job so much more better, being around great friendly workers makes the job better, there are a few that aren't so nice but happens in every workforce, but in all honesty if I didn't have the co workers that I do, my job would be a lot worse. The hardest part of my job is knowing that im still a casual and I can get a lot of hours one week and then the next week I could get nothing, its not very consistent and that is what I need. Once again, one of the most enjoyable parts of my day are the co-workers that I have, they always seem to be happy and make jokes and laugh which makes me always enjoy going to work, even if sometimes its only a few hours a week. the management at work is a little different because the place is so big there is 8-9 different managers for different areas and sections so each manager is different to the other, they all have different takes and views on things and I cant really comment on all of them, the store manager though is pretty nice, laid back but tough and strict at the same time, all in all he is a nice guy

NIgh fill is demanding , physical and fast pace.
I thrive in an environment where the pressure is on and the dead line has to be met.
5 to 7 hour shifts, constant  movement , no time to chat, head down and just work.
Team work is an intergral part of this position, where, we support each other, if deadlines are not met, we help other team members to reach their target fill for the night, leaving at hte end of our shifts, we knowwe have all achieved our common goal.

	Filling of racks and arrange and display merchandise
	Presenting and demonstrating the products, inducing the prospects to buy, selling, taking orders and effecting sales
	Maintain and develop good relationship with customers through personal contact or meetings or via telephone etc.
	Recommend, select and help locate the right merchandise
	Keep merchandise area tidy

I am primarily a supermarket worker and know everything about supermarket work, particularly night fill of groceries. However, upon a life circumstance making my permanent home in Lakes Entrance, I completed the certificate III in personal care for the aged to get to know the new community. After completing placement, it was found my natural skills were in Aged Lifestyle.

Doing Night Fill work at night was enjoyable.  It was a fast pace job where I had to balance serving customers and filling shelves at night.  It was a good way of maintaining fitness due to the speed that the job demanded, and it helped me be alert due to the multiple tasks the job involves.

always busy, got on well with other team-members, there is a lot more than just filling shelves to nightfill,you are responsible of making sure your customers are getting the best quality food products ie nothing out of date or damaged etc.

While i didn't mind my time here it was without a doubt the most boring thing anyone could do.  In saying that i greatly appreciate the opportunity given to me there, if it wasn't for my employer at the time i would be still struggling to make it back into the workforce after have time away to start my young family.

The work is menial and very easy, however the managers weren't sure exactly what was happening half the time. Often during my tenure there they would also change up the work processes, and have to teach everybody the new methodology.
